Quectel EM120R-GL windows device manager issues

Post by Rrutl »

After searching this forum (and a broader online search) I'm unable to locate help, so I am asking herein. I'm trying to flash generic firmware onto the aforementioned module, it currently is a 'thinkpad module' with (I assume the corresponding firmware). Windows device manager does not recognize the modem, I have install win 10 drivers as well as Lenovo drivers. I have seen discussions about FCC locking on this module and have not been able to find associated unlock instructions using windows. The only comm listed in Huawei terminal is comm 3 and it really doesn't appear that windows even sees the modem. Latest drivers and flash tool is currently installed. Any insight or a friendly pointer would be appreciated. I have previously flashed this model modem without issue. I am not using a Lenovo pc . TIA for any assistance.

You're going to have to narrow this down.
What utility are you using to flash, an OEM utility or EDL?
What VID/PID shows up in Device Manager?
What interfaces is it presenting over USB?
Use: UsbView
