NEXQ6GO-U No Internet Connection

I have a NEXQ6GO-U router with EP06A modem that's been working great on AT&T. It tonight dropped the internet connection. I clicked the reset button and it reset all settings; now the SSID shows as WiFiX 2G rather than my modified one (which is fine). I can connect to the router wifi just fine, but it doesn't connect to internet. I have another unit where I swapped sim cards, and this router still won't connect to internet with a known good sim, so that's not the issue. How do I determine if it's a bad router, bad modem, or something else (firmware upgrade)?
