EM7565 and Verizon

Howdy. First timer here.
I just purchased the NEXR5GO with Sierra Wireless EM7565 Modem from Wireless Haven. It seemed like a fair starting point for our Travel Trailer. We need something better than a hotspot, but not crazy.
I added the sim card and went to Register it with Verizon, and they say the device is no longer supported. I was on with tech support for an hour, and they confirmed it is not supported anymore.
So I'm looking for what's the next step? Can I swap the modem out for a different one or look for another router altogether? Am I doing something wrong with the current setup?
