Linksys EA3500 with Goldenorb MC7455 QMI Mode

I have a Linksys EA3500 router with GoldenOrb_2020-03-01 ( OpenWrt 18.06.7 ) installed. Connected to the USB port I have a MC7455 modem.

When this modem is in MBIM mode it seems to work as expected.

When it is in QMI mode the modem is found and even shows that it is connected to the network (T-Mobile). Using AT commands I can see that the modem does appear connected. It reports that it has an IPV6 external address. When I go to the overview page on Goldenorb the Network section shows Not Connected for both the IPV4 Upstream and IPV6 Upstream.

Back when I was first setting up my system I messed with trying to get QMI working as well and never did get it to work. I ended up just using MBIM mode and never looking back.

Is there a reason you are trying to use QMI, other then reading in some forums its faster and better and the like?

As honestly it seems like a big PIA and if I recall is an older protocol

I've found that QMI doesn't do well for me on Verizon nor T-mobile. I just default to MBIM for everything now.

Same here, Its becasue the QMI interface does not support 464xlat networking.

if that is true, it would explain why NSA and SA modes dont work at all in QMI, but do work in mbim, and only 4g lte works with QMI on tmobile
