EC25-AF + ATT Prepaid not connecting

Post by RVTexas »

Newbie here. I have a WE826-T2 running GoldenOrb 2021-8-15 (ver. 19) and EC25-AF. I did have it configured to use Visible but got tired of the slow speeds and evening congestion disconnects. I purchased an ATT Prepaid 100GB/mo card. I reset the modem using the AT+QPRTPARA=3 and AT+QPRTPARA=1 commands and reset the router. I set the APN = broadband. I found the iv4piv6p set to visible and changed those to "broadband". However, the modem will not connect. I can put the card in my iphone and it works. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a setting somewhere. I'm looking for advice on what to do next. Thanks

Do you have lte only set? Also what does: AT!GSTATUS? return.

One thing also to watch for is AT&T has a whitelist of devices they will allow and your modems IMEI may be an issue. Your I-phone would not be an issue as it is on AT&T accepted LTE list.

When I run AT!GSTATUS? it returns ERROR. Cellular Mode is set to 4G only. Should I try AT&F to reset the modem?

AT!GSTATUS? is a sierra wireless command.
EC25-AF is a Quectel modem.
Wrong command for your modem.

Not sure what info you are interested in. Some of the antenna signal stats can be seen in rooter.

I have a WE826 + EC25-AF. I was trying to get it to connect to ATT. Matt829 suggested my modem might be on ATT’s blacklist. I ran the IMEI through several web-based checkers and they’re saying the modem won’t work with ATT. I’ve read you can use GoldenOrb to change the IMEI, but I’m not sure I want to lock my modem to one network. I was told this modem would work with any of the major carriers. I was hoping someone with more experience could give me AT commands to get it to connect to ATT.

It does sound IMEI related. Would be my first guess anyway. As far as commands or 'howto' your gonna have to dig around here and on the internet for solutions on how to modify it as it is against TOS and basically not 'legal' for lack of better terms and not discussed here.

You can use the command AT+EGMR to see your imei and other info on all Quectel modems, and you can research on other sites how that command may be useful for you,
