NEXP1GO with Quectel EM160R-GL on Calyx

I just purchased a NEXPIGO with the EM160R-GL for a neighbor. It has been unreliable to say the least. It is quite literally right next to two other houses that have the same setup but for some reason it is disconnecting and not reconnecting regularly. Is there another more stable firmware for this device? I know the WG3526 works in the 1608 so I was wondering.
For what it is worth it seems like connection monitoring is not working properly since it keeps reconnecting the modem.
