While browsing through ALIExpress I ran across A Foxconn DW5821E CAT16 modem for $89. Anyone try this one? Does it even cover USA bands? Has 4 antenna ports.

I currently use this modem. The US version is 0PH6K2. It supports most bands in America for LTE. This google drive link is a valuable resource for this modem. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/fold ... BtVYeDC8iU

Once I finally got all the usual settings in place, this modem works well. Only using 2x2 MIMO right now. Pretty darn fast with no interruptions in service. A heck of a modem for $70 to keep as a spare.
Still looking for a complete list of AT commands.

There doesn't seem to be much info available about this modem. Not much AT commands, etc. Does anyone know if there is an AT command to lock into 2x2 mimo?

Pretty much since/as of mid 2021 this card has been basically "fully vetted".
All the information gathered on this modem is scattered across about 4 overall-well-known forums (ltehacks included, with a caveat of being the least informative....and the other forums being far more detailed).

Anyway.....to answer your initial questions: It is in 2x2 mode by default (my guess is this is the only configuration the US modules were solc/intended to be used. In laptops in 2x2 not 4x4 mimo mode. I think its just a "feature" but wasn't a necessity for Dell)
You have to do some minor modifications to enable 4x4 mode (and you have to re-do this if you ever upgrade the firmware).

On to your second questions:

I doubt there is any AT command that you are seeking, that you can't find in this ^^^^

(refer to ayorba86's post, they gave you the link to the basically "crash course" guide for this card)

Thanks, I finally got this modem working again. It won't work in a router but works fine in a separate enclosure. Pretty fast and darn close performance to the EM160-GL I am also using.
Thanks
