Is a GPS antenna required?

Post by mikeiver »

So I have an EM7565 and there are 3 coax connectors, a pair of cellular antennas and one for GPS. Is the GPS antenna required and does it have a DC bias output to run one if required? Anyone know off their top of their heads or am I off to the Sierra site for that?

Thanks in advance!

Not needed, and not sure about the DC bias, but I know it works plug n play as long as the firmware of the device it goes in has an interface to use the GPS

So I found the answer in the manual on the modem. Aux is also the GPS input if the antenna covers the 1.5ghz band as well. There is also DC bias on it if required.

Thanks.
