Has anyone ever attempted to try a band lock on GoldenOrb?

Even though it may or may not make a difference. What steps are involved?

Band locking is a function of the modem being used. GoldenOrb makes this easier though by allowing AT commands to be sent through the GUI.

Here is an example of how to band look for Quectel modems: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=943

It's not quite as point and click as the MoFI software, but it can be done fairly easy once you understand how the AT commands work.

I have never had any luck myself with band locking giving me a speed increase, but I have seen others report that it has made a difference for them.

Where I am at, ATT Band 12 is slow as molasses. I have used the band locking spreadsheets from this site for Sierra and Quectel with great success to force the modem to use band groups that don't include band 12 - ie speed increases.

Here is the guide to the Sierra version of the spreadsheet as well.

I can see it helping. I'm guessing the Sierra version might work on a mofi 4500 Sim 4.
Be interesting to try.

For the mofo sim4 , simply go to the advanced band lock screen and toggle the bands you want and save it.
