What TTL when WG3526(CAT7 EM7411) to TP Link AC1900 to PC

Post by Dre40 »

Hello,

New setup is WG3526(CAT7 EM7411), wifi turned off, LAN port connected WAN port on TP Link AC1900 to PC (and others). Added the TP-link as the WIFI on the WG was really really crappy, weak signal and everything loaded with a initial lag, (TP link fixed both). Former setup was mofi4500v2 to PC TTL 64 (T-Mobile phone sim, unlimited plan. 4 plus years)

TTL set to 64,, good connection (bolton 26)

Noticed my speeds are WAY down, and looked logged onto carrier SIM card use for data shows 295gb of data (plus another 278gb on another sim I swap in when I near 300gb in a month). Was surprised to see 24gb of "hotspot data" on the plan (never showed up before with mofi and TTL 64). I waited an hr and checked back and hotspot data use increased (but not regular data).

With the WG3526 connected to a router which is then connected to PC (cable to PC and wifi to phones/TV's) do I need to set a higher TTL? Like 65 or 66? (what is weird is that i used a ton of regular data and now it's hotspot).

I'll try TTL 65 and report back....

Thanks for any/all help.

Just FYI TTL 65 fixed it. For anyone that runs into something similar after lots of data use on 64 with a setup like mine with router/modem pass to better router.
