Since we are still working on the 5Ghz wireless support for the new MT7633-based chipset, I am uploading the latest factory firmware for their WG1608 "True 5G" wifi Gigabit router.

It was last updated in late June, and is the currently shipping firmware in the routers direct from Shenzhen Zhibotong Electronics Co.

Unfortunately the OEM firmware is lacking some settings which are required for most US carriers (modem support and TTL). :(

Hello
I have WG1608-5G router with latest firmware from ZTB factory. It has TTL firewall settings. I guess you are talking about that.

Can you screen shot the TTL interface and tell us the firmware version number, please?

I don't know, but I know that this router works very bad or maybe the bad is the EM12-G. At least it has 5G wifi support. and Rooter I think it is a copy of openwrt I dont know.

It's all based on openwrt.

ZBT makes the firmware just good enough to claim it works it seems.

Rooter/Goldenorb is a branch of openWRT that started adding TONS of hostless cellular modem support and interfaces.

You can download the firmware here: ofmodemsandmen.com

Hello

I have also the WE826-T2 with the latest LEDE firmware from ZBT and also works very bad. Both has the same problem for me: the internet connection is dropped (for several seconds or minutes) in random way or when you has a "Buffer overflow" (i think its the name when bandwidth is congested)

I just installed the "wg1608-20200624_111921" firmware, and for now it is working more stable, but the Wifi 5G Led is always turn off, but the Wifi bands are working. And I cant install the package luci-app-sqm

I tested before the firmware from "ofmodemsandmen.com" but I dont like because the interface is very slow.
Thanks

Hello
Yes, it is frustrating for me also, but I reinstalled the latest firmware LEDE again, because the firmware "wg1608-20200624_111921" does the same now.

I have the same problem with my EC25 and EM12. Sometimes I think is a ISP problems to avoid the saturation of the network... maybe they drops the connection in specific hours of the day.
When I use SQM or QoS scripts it works better in these hours.

Also the internet stability works better with a basic MR3020v1 router + openwrt + ZTE MF828 lte modem. I think the stability here is better because it uses serial communication, when the connection fails it is recovered quickly.

EDIT: Now I am using the EC25 in CDC ETHER mode and I disabled the AT commands list sent to the quectel module from the router to ask networks parameter each 5 seconds. Now I can say it has a decent performance.
