Backup Generators for Wireless Towers

Post by R1250GSA »

California has a new law, after lots of wild fires, that all macro towers need backup power.
5G mini towers are not in scope.

New York is proposing a backup generator law as well, after major outages after a recent Tropical Storm/Hurricane.

It will be interesting is this catches on with other states.
Could change cost and deployment issues of 5G in the future.

Not sure what it's like in other states, but many towers around where I live in Texas have propane tanks sitting next to them.

Yep the Cell Towers, Water, Sewer System, and even the Grocery Store.

See the generator for my grocery store. Not sure if it's a law or just good business!!
Funny a see very few gas stations with back up power.
Note live in Texas near the cost.

Looks like an HEB. Love my HEB.

Grocery stores have a lot to lose, generators are a must.
