SIM7920-G question

Post by Mitsubishi »

Hi all

I'm new to this so forgive me for the silly question.

sim7920g is a lot more affordable and easier to source than say em20 but why hasn't it been mentioned on this forum?

Is it not compatible or is there no firmware or router that supports it?

Thanks

If it's supported through ROOTer then it is. Otherwise, you would have to be the guinea pig for it and ask for modem support via https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3vx1k1r3?p=700

Generally the SIMCOM modems haven't gained traction here, but I'd have to guess as to why. Likely lack of support. Give it a go, let us all know your journey with one.
