WG3526-P and EM20-G Build Help

Post by ngiac »

Hi Everyone - Hoping to bother you all for a little help. Got all my hardware yesterday and really need to get it up and working for work.

I've gone through all the threads and tutorials. Here's an outline of current state and the things I've tried.

Info
---
Carrier AT&T, in area with very strong signal
Plan: One of the 'unlimited hotspot' plans (AKA ipad plan)
Antenna: 4x4 MIMO, utilized existing wifi antenna ports.
Timezone set and clock synced
APN set to 'broadband' for att :?

Problem
-------
I can issue AT commands to the modem.
Connection log show's "Attempting to Connect to Modem #1", but never connects
I can see my SIM info in Network Status, however SIM Phone number and SIM name are blank
Signal information and Cell information is totally blank
I do see my EM20-G under the General Information on ttyUSB2. Provider says "Failed to Connect - retrying"

Tried
----
Reset modem to OEM defaults
Tried different (brand new) sim card
Check modem and WiFix is latest version firmware
Reseated m.2 card and modem
Tried a different known working ATT post paid sim card...same results in log

AT Results
---------
AT+CPIN?
+CPIN: READY
OK

AT+CNUM
OK

QCFG: "usbnet", 2

Sample of Log
------------

If you have it shipped to me, I will have a look and fix it (no charge, no expectations of any favors) unless the issue is with the account.

Can you insert the SIM into a phone that can get on ATT and get a working LTE connection?

Yup, tested sim in my s20 -- works just fine.

Appreciate the offer, I'll give it a couple days here to see what we can figure out and it's great to know that worst case scenario I have a plan x...or z. Rural living certainly has it's advantages and disadvantages.

I just went through this exact scenario and I don't see you mention TTL at 65. In my case things weren't working, I reset everything and then went through and quickly changed TTL, APN and timezone and then power cycled the router and it worked.
