WiFiX NEXQ6GO Cellular Router Configuration

Post by djt2020 »

I see this router has GoldenOrb firmware installed. I did not see an option to lock to a desired LTE channel. Can that be achieved with this setup? I've had some posts about my MR1100 Nighthawk setup, but I was logging in with my facebook (Scott Flora)account and that option did not come up this time. With AT&T I went through a period where the MR1100 kept changing channels and restarting. It doesn't help that there are 2 AT&T towers in line and I think it locked on to the far one on band 66 some times.
I used a program called Putty to upload commands to add channels that I could then select. It worked, but the router is a bit unreliable at times. I was considering the WiFix as a possibility, but I think it needs to lock on band 2 to work well.
Also which modem would be best?

So your NEXQ6GO can be used to lock to cell bands, BUT unlike some routers and hotspots, you have to also buy the modem to go inside. This will determine the bands you can access and which commands it will take to set the band lock.

What bands do you need? And what services would you like to have available to you?

Does GoldenOrb access the modem? I have AT&T with bands 2,12 and 66. I know the modem is separate. I was given three options by BJ at The Wireless Haven. Is there any advantage of one over the others? Thanks.
