Setup router /modem.. Do have connection and is working.
Started snooping /acquainting myself around gui, see I am receiving this ERROR in "Modem/Debug Information Window"

For Sprint, try using the following command:

Code: Select all

AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1

Thanks for response

I am using the gui under Modem /Miscellaneous

Input command :AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1
Resonse: AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1
OK

But still produces inital ERROR in Modem/Debug Information Window

Then while watching Modem/Debug Information Window it reverts back automatically to
AT+QCFG="nwscanmode"
+QCFG: "nwscanmode",3

So then used Modem /Miscellaneous /Cellular Mode and tried each 4G setting from dropdown:
Automatic ("nwscanmode",0) = same initial ERROR
4G Only( nwscanmode",3 ) = same initial ERROR
4G Preferred WILL NOT WORK....switches to Automatic("nwscanmode",0) while applying change = same initial ERROR

Is the Command AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1 equal to the dropdown menu 4G Preferred ?
Either way the modem will not accept and retain that in command line or dropdown.

So the modem is not taking the changes?

Is there a process I am not doing correctly ?

Since it is hard to tell exactly what is happening, or its cause, this is the game plan I would use.

Note that this also assumes the EM12-G is properly installed and the MHF4 are connected to the Main and Diversity ports on the modem (and not the GPS Port), that a good Mini PCI-E to M.2 adapter is being used, and that there is adequate cellular service at your location.

1. Download a fresh copy of the WiFiX firmware for the WE826-T2.

2. Remove the SIM Card from the router, and place back into the hotspot or device and connect to the carrier. If it is a hotspot, update the user profile and any other updates that are available. Make sure it connects and gets internet access. Then, see exactly what APN it is using.

3. Do not place the SIM Card back into the router.

4. Using the Firmware Recovery Method, upload the WiFiX firmware.

5. Once it is uploaded and back online, use the WiFiX UI to upload/flash the firmware a second time and UNCHECK the box to save settings.

6. When backup, go to the Modem Profile and enter the APN that your hotspot/device showed to be using. Make no other adjustments and SAVE and APPLY.

7. Next, reset the EM12-G to OEM with the following command:

Code: Select all

AT+QPRTPARA=3
8. Waiting 10 seconds after acknowledging the reset to OEM, unplug power to the router.

9. Insert SIM Card, making sure it is fitting into the SIM Card adapter properly (if one is being used, also see below).

10. Power up the router, Login and set the modem to LTE only (Sprint seems to like this setting):

Code: Select all

AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1
11. This completely refreshes the build, and with any luck, you should connect.

SIM CARD KNOW ISSUES OFF THE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE:
There are several common causes related to no connection and/or re-connections. Each of these should be checked where applicable.

1. The SIM Card is bad, worn or dirty from swapping it in and out of devices. Check it closely for any sign of damage. Try cleaning the SIM Card’s electronic chip with an alcohol pad and refrain from touching the metal chip area during re-installation.

2. The SIM Card is not seating properly in the SIM Card Adapter and therefore, the router. All the tits/tabs on the four sides of the SIM Card MUST be removed—sand them flat using an Emory board or sand paper laid flat on a table. Then, clean the SIM Card’s electronic chip as explained above. The SIM Card must fit into the adapter with ease, not loose but not tight. Otherwise, when pushed into the router, the SIM Card tilts ever so lightly on one end and causes the pins not to make adequate contact with the electronic chip. This bad connection can worsen as the router warms up.

Wait, what is the issue? You say it is running, internet connected. You just want to know what the error is at the end of the debug stream?

Unless your somehow connecting to 5G networks, your not going to get network registration with C5GREG. These are unsolicited results running in the background. I wouldn't worry about them at all.

I could be wrong, but I think this ones not a problem.

Now if you saying your modem isnt connecting and getting you up on the internet, then we have a different issue, and the AT+C5GREG commands are not likely the source.

Your getting 2xCA and you have a fair signal, with a CSQ of 27. Max is 31 and is the goal. Id say focus on signal optimization, and leave this one alone.

I misread his post and thought it said no connection.

You will often see errors in the logs where it sends AT Commands that may not be compatible with a particular modem that is installed.

I want to Thank you Didneywhorl.

Purchased the WE826 GO and EM12.... everything current as delivered last weekend.
Setup was easy..was online in less than 20 minutes.
My signal has improved and my Download and Upload immensely( 2-7DL to 12-30DL)

Today I thought would look at Gui and see whats going on out of curiosity,
Hence the thread .. WiFiX WE826-T / EM12 / Error

Still bothers me the Command AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1 or the dropdown menu 4G Preferred does NOT work.
The modem will not accept and retain that in command line or dropdown.

Please advise on a few more Questions:
1) Command AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1 or the dropdown menu 4G Preferred does NOT work. Is this an issue of modem /router? (The sim works great with no errors in MF975s)
2) What is the command AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1 (asking for...LTE Only and LTE Preferred) (Sim works in MF975s)
3) You say ignore...5G related ...is that OK to have that error repeating every minute?
4) Should I have sim in adapter or router? Is in router at present.
5) Router seems to take anywhere from 2-5 minutes to have wired /Ethernet access... is that normal?
6) Only other errors I can see in GUI is on the Kernal log: 73.061072] random: 6 urandom warning(s) missed due to ratelimiting

Keep thinking I need to input something..besides Modem Profile APN and Date Time.

Sorry to be pain in butt

I want to thank you again so much for your time and patience Didneywhorl and Jim.
This is all new to me and wanting to understand.

Very happy with my purchase..just want to fine tune.

1: and 2: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oFodW ... 9NmAdMAFqE A gift! read up!

That command should work. Type AT+QCFG="NWSCANMODE" and it should return the current setting
Maybe screen shot where it is you say it says it isnt working and show us

3: It does this on mine as well, its unsolicited responses from the modem
4: In router
5: On bootup? sure. On simple LAN plugin? Dont think so.
6: No idea. Google it i guess or ask the guys who work on r00ter at www.ofmodemsandmen.com

No worries, thanks for asking intelligent and well though out detailed questions.

Just got back to this...
Very much appreciate the input.
Finally setup some notifications ..and diving in with info overload and going off on tangents ... now if I can just absorb.

Thank you Didneywhorl for answering my questions and the gift.

1&2) It appears I was emphasizing the command 3,1..but looking at Quectel Commands.. everything is normal
5) Yes, I was referring to boot up
6) There are some results ..but not savvy enough to correlate and must not be to critical...That site is a whole other animal :geek:

System had been working great till yesterday..which will start new post.

Thanks again!

Cool, glad to help.
Yeah, I think its switch0 is just taking a minute or so to get setup before the LAN responds to plugged in devices.
