Cricket Wireless blacklisting devices?

Post by LoneRager »

Ive been using Cricket Wireless $55 a month unlimited plan (ends up being $25 on my multiline) and last week all of a sudden my Samsun TV quit connecting to the internet. It connects to wifi just fine, but none of my apps will load. Im using a Mikrotik SXT with a Quectel EC25-AF with "magic"
Up until now everything has worked great! If I connect my TV to my hotspot on my phone it works just fine.

Has anyone else had this happen or have any idea what might be going on? Im using TTL 65.

Try a proxy or VPN. It may be blocking something in their CGNAT firewalling

I have looked into VPNs pretty extensively but I’m trying to keep everything self-contained on my SXT and it’s not powerful enough to run the encryption.
How would I go about researching a proxy to run my stuff through?

So for anyone wondering, Mullvad wireguard VPN seems to work well to defeat whatever cricket was doing because Im using it now and all my devices work great.

Does anyone have experience using so called "Smart DNS" Cactus VPN claims it will get around all this too, and it would be way easier than setting up wireguard. https://www.cactusvpn.com/smart-dns/
