EM7411 carrier specific firmware

Post by mcollins4551 »

I notice that the EM7411 has specific firmware versions for att, verizon, etc. What is the advantage of running a specific carrier's firmware instead of the generic firmware? Just trying to understand if it's worth changing from the generic firmware to the att firmware. Thanks.

The carrier specific is written to the specs of the carrier for that device. This is useful if you are using official hotspot plans and your device is registered to the SIMs account, directly. Not always, but I've seen that they can run a little better in carrier specific firmware, BUT again they only work with officially registered hotspot plans.
