Calyx WE826-T2 Issues

Post by squitoman »

Living in the country, trying to get some more reliable internet until Starlink is available. I am using Calyx internet with a Linkzone hotspot and want something a little more powerful for home use. I bought a WE826-T2 router and Sierra MC7455 modem to try to get working. (I'm not sure if it matters, but it's a Wiflyer model router). I tried putting GoldenOrb on it but when I tried it gave me wrong device errors, so I just tried chugging along with the installed OpenWRT on it.

Dial mode set to QMI, APN set to r.ispsn. Detects my sim, my provider, and gets a signal (51%). However, I get no internet through it.

I'm not familiar with that firmware. Are you using the generic firmware image on the modem? AT command to see :

Code: Select all

AT!IMPREF?
Try this one if you feel adventurous: https://thewirelesshaven.com/nexq6go-firmware

Use this method to flash: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2051

PDF in the zip file has all the flashing methods as well.

I was able to get that firmware flashed on it, and it connected, but it's extremely slow? Like I can't even load a website.

The modem is using generic firmware.

I was able to get online, I'm actually using it right now. I'm getting comparable speeds to my hotspot I was using before. I've tried locking into different bands, but the only band I've been able to get reliable connection/speed from is Band 26. I'm getting about 10Mbit/s.

My antenna stats are:
Signal Strength - 64%
RSSI: -73dBm
RSRQ: -12.5dB
RSRP: -101dBm
SINR: 9.6dB

I'm guessing my best course of action would be to try to improve my signal strength?

Yes, signal strength above most all else. Signal quality as well. Your SINR is decent, but might be able to be inproved.
