I recently purchased a MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM7-COMBO 4G/LTE Router with Upgraded 2 x Cell Antenna AT&T T-Mobile Verizon SIM Slot.

If I currently have an AT&T mobile device, and I am getting ready to upgrade to an unlimited plan, can I just add a second line and say I have my own device (an old iPhone 6s that was used for AT&T) , and take the SIM card out of it after activation and use it in the mofi? I spoke to an AT&T rep on the phone and she stated that it would have to be setup as a mobile hotspot (that would be limited to at most 100gb/month) so I was wondering if my theory of just paying for another line would work or if there is another option for unlimited data.

That method, I believe, does not work. You can still get ATT postpaid unlimited to work however. There are many threads on it.
