Re: Verizon Unlimited Plan & Sierra Wireless Devices
You will probably run into several issues with your current limited Verizon plan. First, since your total data usage is capped at 30GB for all three lines, there's no way to bypass that limit with any mobile router. You must have a completely unlimited phone data plan, then the hotspot data limit co...

Re: External Antenna Band 13 MIMO?
Yeah, would be generous by Verizon. The plan is actually unlimited, just not at the speeds i want, lol. Your comment got me thinking though (dangerous i know). What would happen if I put a sim card in from one of my other unlimited phones which are not being throttled on data, only hotspot? Well, I...

Re: External Antenna Band 13 MIMO?
I put the SIM in my phone, data limits still restricted. I had 3 Verizon lines on an unlimited plan (not business) and decided I no longer need the 3rd line. I tried using it in a cradle-point and had to call Verizon to get the SIM to work. At that time they put me on a "data only" plan f...

Re: MC7455 / EM7565 vs. Quectel EP06 IMEI Change
It's possible now thanks to bkerler https://github.com/bkerler/SierraWirelessGen to unlock Engineer Mode and issue the enhanced commands meant for testing purposes. Do some more digging and I believe you will find the answer. Sierra has pretty good modems unless you are on Sprint then I advise you ...

Re: New Padlocked AT@T Tower
Any AT@T techs or employees here have access to cell tower information??? They recently installed a cell tower by my house however it has a padlock on it. I dont know if the lock was from AT@T or just a neighbor locked it. I cant wait for this to become active! Also if you know what bands it will t...

Re: Modem NOT identified
Hello. I have the sim back in the android which had a fried battery. The card no longer holds that number so we have verizon on the phone - we are on hold - to see about linking it back. I think it was in 3 other devices, attempting to "make it happen" so guessing it was crashed. The phon...

Re: What does the provider see about our device....
But what do they know about my cell modem? Is it possible to make the service provider see a tablet instead of a computer or a router? Does the service provider even know I'm using the cell modem in a router? Oh I though you're asking about the information your carrier can see during browsing. Your...

Re: Is anyone using T-Mobile Rural with good results?
Well I am paying $95 for T-Mobile plan unlimited hotspot and HD video streaming. TV picture looks great! When I look at simple mobile this is what i see. How do you get around the 480p streaming? Normally most prepaid plans do not work for tethering (it's blocked once the hotspot data has been used...

Re: Is anyone using T-Mobile Rural with good results?
Nowadays, there's really no need paying $79 for unlimited un-throttled service, the same exact Tmobile service can be had for less than $45 or less. For those interested in a rundown of the various less expensive options, check out this post > https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?p=4592#p4592

Re: Affordable Alternative to ATT iPad?
I think it might be a band issue. I'm going to try locking out B30 but not sure if that's possible without getting a usb adapter for my modem. Yeah their TOS spells it out clearly... next! lol "After 50 GB of data use on a line in monthly bill cycle, data reduced to 2G speeds for remainder of ...

Re: What does the provider see about our device....
Basically they can "see" every website you go to, but will not see the actual contents of HTTPS sites. Most carriers also throttle your speed when they detect video streaming such as YouTube, while some may allow you to turn off video throttling. You can hide you usage by going through a V...

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you switch from the Calyx provided hotspot to the sierra wireless? thanks. Calyx states on their website that using the sim in another device/router other than what they provide can lead to suspension of the service. It may not happen, but just a heads up. And now le...

Re: WE 826-GO / Sierra EM7565 CAT-12 and Visible
Where do I find "Modem" on the computer? Keep in mind I'm running Linux Mint. There are two ways to send AT commands to the modem. It's probably easier to use method 1. 1. With the modem inside the router, you simply access the terminal by logging into the router's settings, then dig down...

Mint is a T-mobile wholesaler but band 5 is not listed. That said I also cannot get it to change to band 4 or any other individual band for that matter. At least based on AT!GSTATUS? the only returned value is b2. This is the readout no matter what band or bands I try to set the modem to. The reaso...

Thanks, BillA! I tried the various steps, and although they did not seem to solve the problem it did lead to me trying something else I read about - TTL settings... I changed mine after a few options to "64" and that seems to allow all devices to work fine - Apple products and my laptop -...

Re: At&t switch bands on modem
Bill, What is the command to lock band 2 and band 12 for At&t for a MC7455. I am guessing I am putting in the wrong commands to make them stick. Locking just one band 2 will that stop carrier aggregation for me? Normally you shouldn't have to change/lock the bands, since the modem's firmware ha...

Re: why is my MC7455 suddenly camping on a weak signal?
I think I might be having a similar issue. How did you know what band to lock to? You can use a Samsung phone in test mode to find all your local live channels, or just take a look at the table below and test each band one by one on you particular carrier. US LTE Bands (Frequencies) *Primary bands ...

I have a question about carrier switching bands at night to Band 4. During the day it will switch to Band 2 which is must faster for me. I have locked in band 2 and band 12 and it will still pull band 4 on me. Is there a way to make this stay on band 4 or is the carrier switching me to another towe...

I understand all the terminology and what it means. Due have a question about congestion and deprioritization though. How it actually works against your speeds. Thank you for the excellent response! I do like T-Mobile's reliability. I'm just a little worried that I may be using too much data with just a regular unlimited cellphone line. Hello all. I am thinking of getting the Fibocom L860-GL M.2 modem, and looking at the pictures there are 4 antenna ports. Re: TTL control on M.2 Modems in USB enclosures
Thanks for the reply Bill. I was a little concerned about this because I tried using a tethered phone as a USB modem (router was running GoldenOrb) and I tried changing the TTL value, but my speed remained 3G (this is the default unlimited speed for my SIM plan while tethered/hotspot). I also notic...
