Re: Unusual signal quality issues... Help!
You have done some great trouble shooting. Replacing coax, checking antennas and connectors was great start. If you have not yet done so, may I recommend replacing your power supply? I say this simply because you had a power surge and never said you have done so.

Yeah I work on multi-million dollar digital offset presses for a living, troubleshooting is half of my day. :D I'm not an RF expert by any means, but it seems odd that I can get -75dbm with the meter, but the modem continues to see -90 to -110, and horrible RSRQ and SINR now. I might have made a mistake by assuming you are on a different tower with a quick scan of your image: B4OlUqr[1].png But, your signal is on verge of being unusable. You can experiment with band locking. If/when you do, see how much the RSSI. RSRP and RSRQ changes. Try locking on band 5 and view your...

The signal from tower has has changed for sure. Your RSRQ is really bad and so is your RSRP. lte-singal.png You are also on a different tower compared to first screenshot / old 7565 modem. This may actually be the major differences. You said you replaced the coax. If you are confident that the conne...

Re: Fibocom L860-GL Antenna setup
I have tried a few USB adapters which draws power from USB port and a enclosure like this https://amzn.to/2Nn7mgc but you may have good point about power. My Fibocom is exactly like this one (ordered a second one to compare): L850.jpg What has taken so long for me to reply is looking for error logs ...

Glad you got the disconnects solved. Surprised that the until was faulty since very well made but it can happen to any equipment.
With the high frequency of band 41 not unusual for signals to vary. I am one mile from tower with some trees in between and my signal varies with time of day.

The carrier maps are useless as you well know. They are trying out do each other by simply changing phone to show 5G

Fresnel Zone Overview
Here is a paper about the "Fresnel Zone and Cellular" I wrote up some time ago and just found it. Did a little refresh on it today. Originally compiled for a lecture I gave few years back. Maybe folks here will find the information useful. Keep in mind that I am a country hick, so grammar ...

thewirelesshaven offers surveys to help you locate carrier towers https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/tower-survey/ce ... y-reports/
Could be an option if you cannot locate towers on your own.

I have never used a ipad (seriously - never used one). But they are popular in the education world. Heard a lot of people saying they cannot stay connected to the thing via wifi hotspot though. Good luck, hope you get it working,

If you want something cheap that will work out of box and supports lots of open source code, try the GL.iNET GL-MT300N-V2 Wireless Mini Portable Travel Router https://amzn.to/2Bs9Erw I love these little fellows and have passed many on to teachers needing a quick fix. Right out of box you can tether ...

This is the thing they sent with this router thats supposed to be plugged in with it. It has two removable antennae also but they dont stay in and they are very clunky https://i.ibb.co/yyZgSz9/thumbnail-IMG-3015ed.jpg Oh wow. That is a piece of work there. I would say those were surplus (bought che...

No need to thank, just help someone else when you can. To answer your question, the thumbs up button gives thanks. You do not place a # in front if you wish the line to be active. Mine below is not set to 117, but as example mine is like: #start naive newb fw iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o wwa...

Looks like you are missing the jumper to modem. Chances are the modem is not installed either. Follow the links in this thread to see whats inside https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=74

Re: AirMaster 4000D - disconnects for a couple hours but mostly works well
Ok, for an update... I have enabled telnet on the AirMaster and will be checking the dmesg output after any outages. If you have one of these, enable telnet through the web config (management), enable local access, and log in to its IP (same as used for the web config, 192.168.0.1 in my case) with ...

Re: Loss of Data During Sustained Download
1. I live in a larger city with great signal, and download 5-10GB files regularly but never see a pause. Never had the luxury of great signal I guess. But then again have not lived in a large city in past 25 years. My life evolves around RSA (rural service area). Even with 80% signal, great stats c...

Re: AirMaster 4000D - disconnects for a couple hours but mostly works well
Also my router says the ethernet link went down... which would in fact suggest that it could be the POE injector messing up. I'm not sure if it functions as a bridge/switch or what, but the physical link is, I'm pretty sure, negotiated by the POE device. Hopefully the new injector will get here soo...

Re: Loss of Data During Sustained Download
I would expect this to happen with a 100GB file. Mobile networks are not designed to maintain steady connections and never were meant to download large files.. I experience the same thing even with 100MB files. You may hear of others in larger cities not having the issue, but I personally have never...
