TTL changes for ipv4 seem to be the only needed change to keep the data looking like device data instead of hotspot data On TMobile yes. On ATT it works, for now, but they are backporting what they learn from Cricket DPI into ATT. I am expecting to see some public announcement soon and will point t...

Re: Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
I am running a set of experiments to inform my rural community of LTE based backhauls they can use for internet. While I personally have very poor connection to Verizon (and I STILL have not been able to figure out where exactly my closest Verizon tower is), the rest of my rural community half a mil...

Re: Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
I have not heard/read anything official from ATT but it seems like ATT is starting to value their LTE at $13/GB and axing any usage that falls below that metric. Since a large number of lines will be cancelled because of this decision, they are collecting logs of line behavior that can be shown to f...

Is there a syslog or kernel entry that loads the device driver and shows /dev/ttyUSB* being mapped?

Does using a HTTPS proxy instead of a VPN work fixing the disconnection issue?

Re: PSA: AT&T Doing away with $35 iPad Unlimited.
Just another update -- I'm still using the iPad plan, so it certainly does seem like only high data users are getting kicked. To be fair, did you really expect to not be booted for using north of 400GB a month? I would not assume most people to read "unlimited" as "keep it below 100G...

Thanks again for the help & info. FWIW, it seems a lot of what you're doing is over my head (I had to google mechanical turk, for instance). I'm hoping for a pretty straightforward plug-and-play type solution. The specs you mentioned before is absolutely top notch, you have it all figured out t...

If you have it shipped to me, I will have a look and fix it (no charge, no expectations of any favors) unless the issue is with the account.
Can you insert the SIM into a phone that can get on ATT and get a working LTE connection?

Re: WG3526 EM7565 T-MOBILE disconnecting every 3 hours
My Tmo disconnection woes reduced from once every 30 minutes since the 12th to twice every day now with high probability during peak hours beginning the 15th. I am at 22GB total traffic so no network managed yet. My Tmo used to be rock solid before this. Now I can no longer count on it to not drop m...

Re: Newbie exploring options...
I use a Archer C7 at home and have been quite happy with it. I'll see if I can pick up another locally (though a quick scan of FB marketplace & craigslist doesn't leave me with much hope). Looks like the going rate on eBay is ~$40. I see. In that case, I would consider purchasing the eBay listi...

Re: WG3526 with EC25-AF questions
I want to use a PCs for People (Mobile Citizen) SIM in this setup. The modem fails to connect with APN r.ispsn. Is this because of the lack of B25 and B26? I had hoped with T-Mobile allowing Sprint to roam where there is no Sprint service that it might work. The coverage map shows extended LTE here...

Re: PSA: AT&T Doing away with $35 iPad Unlimited.
I can explain but my last few posts go into much more detail. A quick summary - carriers are moving to VoLTE. They also want 100% utilization of theirs towers but to make money they heavily oversubscribe hoping everyone stays within an estimate (breakage) Internet data plans mess around with breakag...

This behavior is new to me and just started to happen to me this morning.
The specific plan is a Teltik $60/mo unlimited plan which has been rock solid for months.
My T-Mobile data resets every 11th and I'm 4GB into it so this is not even hitting network management thresholds.
