I have to be selfish here as my whole neighborhood depends on the ATT iPad plan to continue to work but the root effect is very simple - on the ATT iPad plan you need to stay below 22GB and ensure it's in an iPad. Study how ATT changed how the plan behaves. Have you noticed ATT sending "ping&qu...

Re: Verizon and Quectel EP06

Could you help me out with this: 1. Where did you purchase the EP06A from? An USA reseller or direct from China? 2. Is your Verizon Cell phone a postpaid or prepaid or MVNO? Just Verizon being Verizon they are the biggest and just do what they want. TMobile has started to do the same. You cannot plu...

T-mobile service in your area, get the International plan and you'll get unlimited 4G LTE and no bandwidth limits
Is this an in-store only special?

Otherwise do you have a link to look this LTE plan up?

Re: Verizon and Quectel EP06

Quectel actually has a guide on how to whitelist their devices on Verizon by working with Verizon. It's pretty detailed and walks you through the process. There's no need to send the device in as the device class is already registered with Verizon. I think since these are DIY modules, Verizon would ...

Re: Quectel EP06-A with Visible Wireless

Bill, on another thread I made an assertion that: On Verizon, you can't stick in any IMEI that's not "approved" on their network and have it work like you can on ATT/Tmo. I have some supporting evidence to my assertion, for example: Quectel even has a guide on how to whitelist their device...

Re: Verizon and Quectel EP06

I can see why this could get confusing. 1. Could you ask this on Quectel website? Make sure they understand you never explicitly worked with Verizon to whitelist this IMEI 2. In theory, that Quectel should never have registered on the Verizon tower - so for how long did it run? months? years? I ask ...

Re: Verizon and Quectel EP06

So is this something new they started doing? Didn't have this issue before. What I don't get is this is a legit Hotspot verizon plan. Why do they care what device it is in? This has been the case for a while AFAIK. Quectel even has a guide on how to whitelist their devices on Verizon by working wit...

ok, That is a HD streaming issue. Fast.com tests video capabilities. speedtest.net does not, it straight up raw data power no video test. Fast.com is to test video for like Netflix and what not. Do you have HD streaming on this plan, on this sim card? If someone here has these "HD streaming tu...

Re: T-Mobile HD Media Settings

Bill, the video stream, if HTML5 is over HTTPS, is encypted - there should be no way, besides DPI, AFAIK for Tmobile to detect a HTTPS stream is video unless they are looking at IPs and matching them to known providers (like YT). My IP theory has support from your observation that a regular proxy (w...

Re: Real life experience with Simple Mobile or PagePlus or TelTik

I am actually curious how USSDs work on phones - I have noticed that USSD codes like #3282# don't work on my unlocked phones but they do on locked phones, so there's something programmed into the locked phones where they work as intended while the unlocked phones don't know what to do with it? New t...

Re: Tracking down Verizon towers (specially B2/4/13)

There's nothing better than getting a high gain flat panel antenna, mounting is as high as possible, and rotating it 360 degrees at 10 degree increments till you find the best signal about how much those antennae typically cost and what additional hardware like a metal mast, cabling and their assoc...

Well because you you have the Quectel in this case, you can "fix" the issue. THAT'S the most we can probably discuss on the forum openly, so you are still good.

Re: How Tmobile screwed us over and moving to Teltik didn't really help. MAYBE Verizon saves us?

Sprint has 1xEV-DO only here, not even 3G. No 4G LTE of course otherwise we would have been all over it with Calyx and what not.

However due to merger, I am thinking whether signing up for Sprint in the city a few miles away and then moving back home would allow me to roam on TMobile for cheaper!.

Tracking down Verizon towers (specially B2/4/13)

First, some background to why I am trying to do this: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1467 Now, I signed up with a Verizon MVNO last week and am suffering from extremely poor reception. I cant get better than -110 dBm from my house. What I need your help with: If you think of my h...

How Tmobile screwed us over and moving to Teltik didn't really help. MAYBE Verizon saves us?

I am going to link to this but I would like to hear from the rest of you if you noticed this too: I am in rural California and without access to traditional internet - LTE is the only way to go without forking over hundreds of dollars a month to one specific provider and then risking getting throttl...

Is "tower locking" something that can really be done?

I use the EC25-AF LTE modem and was wondering: 1. Is "tower locking" (where I force the modem to connect specifically to one tower - which might be further away than one "close") something that can really be done? 2. If so, how could I configure the EC25-AF LTE modem to do so? Or...

Is IP passthrough what I should be looking for in the situation I described above? The router to which the WAN po...

Re: Will t-mobiles 20$ tablet plan work with mofi 4500?

Please keep me posted. AFAIK, TMobile enforces strict IMEI enforcement across devices, although BillA, among others, will know better. Simply put, the moment, you - jchonline - plug in your t-mobile tablet plan SIM into your MOFI, you will see sub-1Mbps speeds. If the OP - TheRealYayo - is still aro...
