Propriety firmware, best to contact them. Though I don't think they will help you as they want you to buy the T-Mobile version if there is one. Usually they rename the modem's id and only whitelist of known serial number from your router to prevent a swap like what you are trying to do.

So I've ran speed tests and checked the modem several times today and especially during my normal deprioritization periods. Seems to be working great by removing B66 from the rotation. I've generally been on B13 and have speeds in the 25-40mbps down and 10-18mbps up. So, looks like this is working....

Re: Cradlepoint CBA850 with MC400LP6

first thank you for all your help. i thought you have to enter the command in the AT config script? that's what i can't find. i have the modem set up to reboot daily @ 3am and this morning it was back to b30, ca 12 because i can't find the WAN interface profile to set the bands. also AT!BAND=1F,&qu...

I think by default GO uses both for any APN you enter in the profile so I don't think you need to manually set it.

thanks, after following your instructions it now it works. if the modem reboots will i lose this setting since i can't find when to enter the AT config script? also what would be the command to lock to b2 and CA on b30, please? thanks, all commands were accepted but after AT!RESET still locked to band 30 and CA on 12? I don't think you actually set the bands you wanted but instead just added to the list. Does AT!BAND=? list "0F" you added? Does AT!BAND? respond with "0F" you selected? If not, you type ...

Ah. I didn't bother to ask you about what your TTL settings look like as I assume you would copy the right interface for the phone which is usually usb0. It was the only thing I changed when I tested it too and I already read you had it working at first with TTL set. If you add the TTL settings for ...

Re: Using T-Mobile 600 Mhz. Band 71?

So basically what you are saying it that B71 will never work. Well since you have no way to isolate the bands to test, you just have to assume it's in your area according to cellmapper or spend some money and buy the Quectel EC25-AF to truly test. Personally, I would try to get better signals with ...

Try

Code: Select all

AT!RESET

Yes but WIFI is not supported. Grab the USB3 enclosure with extra power input so you don't run into power issues.

What does

Code: Select all

ls /dev/ttyUSB*

Try

picocom /dev/ttyUSB2
and see if you get a response when you type ATI

Re: Using T-Mobile 600 Mhz. Band 71?

Since there is no way to limit the bands a phone supports and bands 2 & 12 only go a few blocks that would seem to make band 71 WORTHLESS if there is no way to use it! Some phone models let you do it directly some won't. Head over to XDA forums if you want to do some digging. Basically you need...

Re: Using T-Mobile 600 Mhz. Band 71?

The tower determines what bands your phone will latch on. Your phone just lets the tower know it supports B71 but it doesn't mean your phone will connect to it as the tower knows that B2 and B12 are faster than B71 or configured that way and want your phone to connect to those bands instead. You hav...

If it's doing CA, try to have it to connect to each single band only without CA and see if upload speed will improve or not.

So, could I make a router or buy a router that would have the same speeds as my phone? All while on verizon unlimited or AT&T. Absolutely if you don't mind the cost of investing in a high CAT# modem with 4x4 MIMO capability. It will even outperform your phone's modem due to better antennas than...
