It's a mobile hotspot, unlikely just like the Netgear MR1100. It's not needed if it's AT&T postpaid unlimited plan.

Propriety firmware, best to contact them. Though I don't think they will help you as they want you to buy the T-Mobile version if there is one. Usually they rename the modem's id and only whitelist of known serial number from your router to prevent a swap like what you are trying to do.

Go with the postpaid unlimited plan and keep your netgear if you don't have issues with it.

Re: New to forum. Currently using a mofi4500
So I've ran speed tests and checked the modem several times today and especially during my normal deprioritization periods. Seems to be working great by removing B66 from the rotation. I've generally been on B13 and have speeds in the 25-40mbps down and 10-18mbps up. So, looks like this is working....

That was one theory I had as the tower is probably pretty old. But, if I can carrier aggregate enough, I think it should be fine. I don't think I can get a unlimited verizon plan off like ebay or anything right? Pretty sure they are mostly scams. Maybe you could put your AT&T hotspot sim in you...

Re: No data...
I forgot about Warp vpn from cloudfare but yeah it looks like USB tethering works but just not to the router. BillA probably has more insight as he has done it or still using phone to router method. I could try it later and report back if I have the same problem as you when I have time to mess with ...

Re: Using T-Mobile 600 Mhz. Band 71?
So basically what you are saying it that B71 will never work. Well since you have no way to isolate the bands to test, you just have to assume it's in your area according to cellmapper or spend some money and buy the Quectel EC25-AF to truly test. Personally, I would try to get better signals with ...

Re: Need Advice on Modem Upgrade
I'd only be using the r7000 as a passthrough to my router that has wifi. Which USB enclosure are your referring to? https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/pcie-m-2/m-2-ngff/usb3-to-ngff-m-2-key-b-adapter-enclosure-with-sim-card-slot/ or this with 5GNR compatibility from the maker https://www.rawork.netw...

Re: WE826 with EP06 stuck in hostelss/phone protocol
Thanks to everyone on this one. Somehow got it to work this time and got it out of hostless phone mode protocol. Believe this command is what got me in this situation in the start of this. AT+QCFG="usbnet",1 - ECM Just a warning to others. ECM mode works fine for Quectel (EC25, EP06, EM06...

Yes but WIFI is not supported. Grab the USB3 enclosure with extra power input so you don't run into power issues.crazysteve wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 5:10 pm Shit! I just realized I have a NG R7000 just sitting here. I can grab a sierra card, enclosure and use rOOter right?

Do you have a USB enclosure to test it with instead of using the native mPCI?

Re: No data...
Any link to some how-tos you may suggest? Setting up & using VPNs is completely new to me. Thanks! Use some popular free VPN apps like Tunnelbear, Betternet on your phone then just connect to a server before enabling USB tethering to see if it resolves your issue. You might have to use an app l...

Re: Using T-Mobile 600 Mhz. Band 71?
Since there is no way to limit the bands a phone supports and bands 2 & 12 only go a few blocks that would seem to make band 71 WORTHLESS if there is no way to use it! Some phone models let you do it directly some won't. Head over to XDA forums if you want to do some digging. Basically you need...

Re: Using T-Mobile 600 Mhz. Band 71?
The tower determines what bands your phone will latch on. Your phone just lets the tower know it supports B71 but it doesn't mean your phone will connect to it as the tower knows that B2 and B12 are faster than B71 or configured that way and want your phone to connect to those bands instead. You hav...

If it's doing CA, try to have it to connect to each single band only without CA and see if upload speed will improve or not.

Re: No data...
I have tried various TTLs and some custom firewall rules (re: IPv6) that I found in another thread, but neither have worked. Data still works absolutely fine when the phone is not used as a modem. What am I missing? What else should I try? I would try to test it with a free VPN on the phone while t...

Re: Faster phone internet than on Router
So, could I make a router or buy a router that would have the same speeds as my phone? All while on verizon unlimited or AT&T. Absolutely if you don't mind the cost of investing in a high CAT# modem with 4x4 MIMO capability. It will even outperform your phone's modem due to better antennas than...

Re: New to forum. Currently using a mofi4500
Does anyone have a command list for band locking on Verizon bands and to change it back to all bands? I seen a post that had it for AT&T bands using band 12 but didn’t see anything for band 13. I think this https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=943 is what you are looking for. When...
