Re: Wireless ISPs (WISPs)
Yep, that's why I was wondering if that is what you were testing. Do you get about 200 Mbps in one direction then? Is there any way to restrict upload speeds so that people doing uploads don't slow down the downloads for others as much? What was the performance difference? What is your target speed...

Looking forward to it! :D So this is a CPE antenna to a CPE antenna? Cool. What does aggregate throughput mean here? Does that mean total throughput when sending and receiving at the same time? That fixed it, apparently at!usbcomp=1,1,10d or at!usbcomp=1,1,1009 only works on MC7455 modems.
Strange thing is, it said in the kernel output it was in MBIM and QMI mode the whole time.

Thought I'd start a thread to discuss WISPs. I think a lot of folks that are technical and setting up 4G conections are probably learning about WISPs in the process. No. What I am saying is that in my situation, if a competitor sprung up that was taking away cable customers, they could face harrassment from the cable company. Good point. Generally, not as much gain is needed for the lower frequencies, since they travel farther. Re: Latency Issues? (Solved: QMI > MBIM)
I don't know exactly, but its been a few releases back.serverside wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 8:41 am Anyone know the answer to this? When did the Rooter builds start working with QMI?
I noticed that too randomly when trying a newer version of GoldenOrb.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to set it up soon, and do a full write up on how to do this.

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?
(Ping under load - there have been people streaming most of the time that it's been running.) Thanks everyone for the help! I figured out a solution - use qmi. (That would have been a really simple thing to just randomly try before going through all the effort of actually tracking it down... but I ...

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?
is it possible you are getting buffer bloat? That can cause high latency during speed tests and such.
I'd suggest testing here to see if that is the issue: http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest

Manufacturers specs are almost never accurate. I'd recommend getting one of these if you need to know the exact amount of power usage: https://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU/ref=asc_df_B00009MDBU/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167125429392&hvpos=1o2&a...

Re: DMZ - Alternative to Bridging a Router
Openwrt actually bridges interfaces just fine, it's the rooter scripts that stops the bridge from working. Rooter is just not set up for this feature. If you want a true bridge just dont use rooter. Install your drivers and packages you need to run the modem then just bridge the lan and wan and it'...

Re: EM7565 Verizon support
I am absolutely sure APN is Correct. it is the same as my tablet or phone. both on the same plan. I would be interested on how the mc7455 owners get on verizon I would think it would be the same. I had to get a supported 4G modem, and get it registered with that. Then move the sim into the MC7455.

Re: EM7565 Verizon support
You should be able to use a compatible device on their network, and once its registered just swap it over to the EM7565. I had to do that with a MC7455 to get mine to work (it was a process issue with them activating me, more than a technical one).

Re: 26 dBi ultra wide-band parabolic grid antenna
Interesting results. That grid antenna really helps with upload speeds. I did some research into that amplifier, it looks like it only takes one input though, and you can't hook up both antennas to it? Also, if AT&T is in the area, I'd recommend trying them. It looks like Verizon's network is pr...

Re: 26 dBi ultra wide-band parabolic grid antenna
sometimes lower gain antennas work better as the signal is scattered coming through the trees.
MIMO is critical in LTE, and I would highly suggest using an antenna that supports it (or two physically separate ones for that matter).

Yes, delete that file. Not sure why both of those would be included by default, unless setup via the GUI.

Re: 26 dBi ultra wide-band parabolic grid antenna
Interesting results. It looks like though with the parabolic antenna you aren't getting a diversity signal? You can see that on the RxD RSSI line as compared to the omni antennas.
Does the parabolic antenna have two RF cables (like N connectors) or just one?

Re: WG3526-P \ EM7565 slow speeds
Sorry, I should have responded sooner to this thread. In my limited experience Verizon's networks are very congested compared to AT&Ts. I think its because Verizon has a reputation for good coverage, which is true. This brings more mobile phone users to their network, and because we are trying t...

Re: Pole mount product/hardware recommendations
How tall is your mast? This is 10 feet. It may look taller due to camera angle. The answer to the question is that I don't know. I am still testing and dealing with variables. There are a handful of trees on my property and the neighbor's that this height helps to get to the less dense upper branch...

Re: Pole mount product/hardware recommendations
do you really need that height to get the signal/performance desired? I considered at one point mounting my entire setup at the top of the mountain on the back of my property (200+ ft) higher, but decided it wasn't worth it and found the performance I got at my house was plenty.

Re: 26 dBi ultra wide-band parabolic grid antenna
I don't know of anyone that has.
Those two things don't coincide. If you want a higher gain antenna it is not typically going to be a wide bandwith. Especially when you get on the lower frequencies. A high gain 700mhz antenna is huge.
