If it matches other modems of similar design its likely that the outer two connectors are your primary pair, but without a hardware design manual, it's likely impossible to know for sure what is intended.

Okay, I'll just pay extra for Wireless Haven to update the firmware. Worth noting that Wireless Haven will only update your firmware to the latest that supports all carriers, which at this point is quite old. it's probably worth learning how to update the firmware yourself if you can find the time....

You could use a modem adapter with SIM slot and see if the router will read the sim from there. You may still have a sim slot issue. If AT+ICCID returns ( or AT!ICCID? Clarify for me. I am not familiar with the adb shell of the Quectel modems, at all ... are you running the ping from the host device command line here/above or is that via the adb shell? The gateway address on the routing table confuses me, as you are attempting to ping an external address (8.8.8.8)...

With adapter you could fit a 5G modem in there. Cat22. I've never spent any time on the WG1602, I heard it was not a good performer at all.

If this 0 Ohm resistor isn't there as a jumper, then you have the hardware watchdog turned ON. If the resistor is there, you're good.

Maybe put a PIN code in at the connection profile, reboot. Then delete it and save, and reboot. Hard reboots. That or maybe completely wipe the router with a recovery flash and a factory reset, then manually config it all again?

There may be a hardware watchdog present that is not seeing the connection, causing the wan0 to ifdown/ifup.

The modem firmware and the router firmware are separate. Both can be independently updated. You can update the router with no effect to the modem, and with no issue due to any modems presence.

You may want to look up modemmanager and its related packages that are needed and make sure they were all installed. Make sure to power cycle the router after its all installed. It is assigned a CGNAT IP that is internal to the carrier network. The network will route out your traffic and exit from one of their IPs, dynamically....

Depends on the firmware, but the CLI way is using the commands:
opkg update
then
opkg install modemmanager
requires some form of internet conneciton (WAN is easiest)

Shouldn't matter.
Make sure you have all bands unlocked.
If nothing else has changed, you may have a SIM account issue. Is the IMEI matching the original device, or was the LT18 registered directly?
