Re: Sierra Wireless Gateways
Has anyone developed open source firmware for these units? They are rugged and reliable and just what many people need who don't want a full WIFI, router, gateway. I use a Peplink load balancing router and just want simple and reliable LTE gateways. Those devices including the modem firmware are en...

Re: What kind of plan will work?
Your phone's data and speed limits should be same even when you insert your SIM card into a router. However, if you have a limited "hotspot" plan, then the router may be able to bypass it (mostly has to do with the TTL settings). So you might be able to bypass your 20GB hostpot limit and g...

Could you explain why band 14 is so important Bill please? Isn't B14 reserved for first responders and therefore not for use by regular consumers? Should regular consumers keep clear of B14 to prevent obstructing or delaying emergency services? From what I've read, band 14 will be available in some...

Just to see what would happen, before I saw your message, I plugged in an old 2.4GHz "n" adapter that I wasn't using anymore and it recognized it. I didn't try my dual-band '"ac" adapter yet, it'll be interesting to see if it's supported since it's much newer. The whole reason f...

Hello, I've been looking around into the Telit LM-960 which is a mPCIe factor vs the m.2. I'm lost on where to start on this project. Lingering around your website i see you sell a "Mini PCI-E To M.2 (NGFF) Key B Adapter With SIM Card Slot". Will this work in for example a WE826 or a WG35...

I purchased a DW5821e several months ago to play with. Have not spent a lot of time with the modem, but could never get it to accept AT+commands in order to set the APN or Bands. Most AT+commands return an error--almost like it is locked--although the commands show to be available. Thoughts? I will...

Nope, not locked. I am using it right now in an USB enclosure connected to OpenWRT router with ModemManager. I also tested it with ROOTer with latest fixes, it works fine. It is that good of a value. Re: does the WE826 support a USB wifi adapter?
You can try it, but if drivers are not included in the router's firmware, it probably won't work. As an alternative you could disable WiFi on the router, take a cable from any one of its LAN ports (not the WAN!), and connect it to the WAN port of a simple/inexpensive 802.11ac access point/router to ...

In order the narrow down whether it's your modem or router at fault for your low speeds, remove or disable the internal modem in the router, and connect your mobile phone with the ATT sim to the router via a USB cable. On the phone turn on USB tether and set everything up under your router's wireles...

Either what JimHelms has suggested, or it's possible that the unmanaged POE hub in between the CBA850LP6 and your access point is causing CBA850LP6 not to assign DHCP properly. For testing purposes try to borrow a managed switch from someone and see if you get DHCP IP with that.

Just like phones, a modem's firmware is programmed to always search out the best possible signal based on the received RSRP and RSRQ signals. Unless it's a buggy firmware, there's really no need to lock it to any particular band. Due to environmental and tower changes in the signal, it's actually be...

Qualcomm devices have a much more secure NVRAM than MTK based ones, so I doubt that there's any simple AT command to repair it in case it gets wiped out. Most likely there's a hidden engineering mode which requires a challenge/response mechanism. Your best option at this time is to go with a Quectel...
