Can't go wrong with a WG3526... Don't forget the adapter for the M.2 modem, though, since those routers have mini pci-e slots. OR get the enclosure anyway, since the 3526 has a usb3 port and having an enclosure lets you plug directly to a pc for managing the modem's firmware.

Re: Bought Mofi4500 - need band 66 - suggestions for change?
Are you getting good signal on your phone inside your home? If so, a Nighthawk M1 might be the easiest route (if it isn't blocked by your carrier). It's a cat16 modem and pretty good wifi for a mobile hotspot. I think the internal antennas are even 4x4 mimo. The downside is the crappy ts9 connectors...

Re: MC400LP6 in ASUS AC68U Router
Idk, is it an mc7455 inside of it? Wouldn't hurt to try. Anyway, the script for sending at commands is /etc/ppp/3g/command. The line that needs changed says "send $x" which needs to read "send $c". cp that file to /jffs, make the edits with nano, then run comgt -d /dev/ttyUSB3 -s...

Re: MC400LP6 in ASUS AC68U Router
There should be an AT command to force it to 4g only, though Idk what it would be for a cradlepoint. As for sending AT commands through the Asus, it's doable, but is a bit of a PITA. You have to ssh into the router and run comgt. There's a script for comgt to run custom AT commands but it's broken s...

Have you tried just disabling all the ipv6 stuff? It generally isn't necessary as most providers don't even give ipv6 addresses yet.

Re: Looking for mount recommendations
Try to find one of the older DirecTV ka/ku mounts... They're a 2" J mount with support arms going out the sides. If you get 2 lag bolts through the main foot and 2 more in each support arm directly into the ends of the rafters then it will support your setup even with the eave mounting and an e...

Re: MC400LP6 in ASUS AC68U Router
Did you go into the usb programs in the router config and enable the USB modem? I know the ac68u works with ZTE hotspots and some sierra/quectel modems in USB enclosures, but I've no experience with cradlepoints. They seem a bit pricey for low-cat modems.

So even when it's working, you're only getting a 5mhz slice of b12... Perhaps you're on a Verizon tower (Verizon allows cspire users on their network) and are deprioritized to the point of uselessness. You may need to change providers to get decent service.

Re: EM20-G won't connect. Please help
CPBR reads phone book entries... Not sure why it's even attempting that, but it's probably erroring due to an empty phone book..? C5GREG might be a typo for CGREG, which just checks GPRS registration, or it might be for 5G, which the EM-20 doesn't support. Either way, it can be ignored since no one ...

Re: Good Antenna Options?
That modem has CA so band-locking is possibly throttling your speeds. You'll want to open up any other 'good' bands to see if it will aggregate onto them (if your tower supports them). Bands 2 and 4 especially should be open. For antennas, you'll want a pair of lpdas or yagis mounted at +-45deg or a...

Re: 4G Modem/Router Setup
I have the same router and it actually is capable of working natively with an M.2 modem in a USB enclosure. You don't get the fancy signal monitoring capabilities of the wifix goldenorb firmware, but it does function. You can check your signal and carrier aggregation stuff with AT commands via SSH.

Re: Netgear LB1120 & ATT Cell Sim woes.
You can easily add a line to your AT&T plan and they'll mail you an already provisioned sim... Just go to their online store and somewhere under add a line you'll see 'bring your own device. ' That's exactly what I did and I've never been throttled even going over 2tb of usage. The problem you'r...

Thanks, I'll order up the gear from The Wireless Haven and give it a shot... Worst case, I have to plug the netgear back in until I can Amazon up a go-between router w/ usb3 ports.

Re: Asus router compatibility with M.2 USB Enclosures
Thanks for the reply, Bill. I did see your announcement of the Wg1608, but it seems it could be awhile before it's available at a decent price. As for the Asus "Routers that use the Broadcom Wifi chipset may have limited or no Wifi when using ROOter firmware. This is due to the lack of Open Sou...

Asus router compatibility with M.2 USB Enclosures
So I have an Asus RT-AC1900p currently connected to a Netgear LB2120 LTE Modem. The fact that the netgear is only a Cat4 without any carrier aggregation (or band-locking or really any useful capabilities in the interface) is making me want to upgrade to a proper modem such as a Cat12 Sierra or Quact...
