It's actually band 2,4, and 66. My cell mapper app was showing it as band 66, but my 7455 shows it as band 4. Re: Latency Issues? (Solved: QMI > MBIM)

The change does survive reboots. To get your pre-changed values, run these commands, one at a time: at!entercnd="A710" at!usbcomp? usbcomp is a password protected command, hence the need to supply the default password of "A710" first. They are protecting you from shooting yoursel...

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?

Thanks everyone for the help! I figured out a solution - use qmi. (That would have been a really simple thing to just randomly try before going through all the effort of actually tracking it down... but I got there in the end :) ) I verified that MBIM has higher latency than QMI with a WE1326 route...

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?

Either Verizon and ATT now know about the EM/MC7455 modems and are heavily deprioritizing them or the firmware on the routers is having issues now after around 1ish years. Really odd why it's happening now. Are you able to bring the equipment to the towers to see if that changes anything? Do you ha...

Re: Indoor antenna readings on a Netgear Nighthawk M1

@gedster314: When I was going to buy an M1, I was planning to try that process for band locking. I wasn't sure if it would work on an American M1 model or if there would be an unknown password required. Is yours an American model?

In the misc screen, do either of these commands work?

at+cgdcont=1,"IPV4V6","fast.t-mobile.com"

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?

Maybe something to ask the GoldenOrb people about? Good job troubleshooting with a different provider and hardware. I always thought my pings were 30-40, since speedtest shows that typically. I just ran ping on the router and the numbers seemed highly variable. Also ran them on Windows (firewall res...

@Falias: What do you see in: MODEM > CONNECTION PROFILE > GENERAL > APN ? (screenshot)

And what do you get if you run this command:

Code: Select all

at+cgdcont?

Re: cannot ping WE826-T2 with T-mobile Quectel EC25-A

Sorry, I had the "=" sign in there. That gives you all the possible values. The second one tells you the current values. For some reason, you have multiple APNs programmed in. Did you enter those or did the system do that? Maybe you had the sim card in a phone first and that's where those ...

Re: cannot ping WE826-T2 with T-mobile Quectel EC25-A

I see Jim replied before I hit send. If the setting goes away on reboot, that solves the issue of having to undo it. You can just remove the startup command in the screen Jim sent if it doesn't work right.

You could try at+cgdcont=? in the misc screen to see the current value too.

Re: cannot ping WE826-T2 with T-mobile Quectel EC25-A

From looking online, briefly, I couldn't find a UI way to do it in GoldenOrb. It involved lower level commands. Seems like a missing feature. The other way to do it is at the modem level. Here is a post on doing it for a Sierra Wireless modem: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=6#p610 For you...

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?

@xdavidx Thanks again for the troubleshooting. I don't have an inverter, but I can rig up a battery for it directly if I need to. I think I can actually just do that test with the cell phone though - if I can connect to the different radios on the tower with the cell phone, and one of them does hav...

I see why you ordered that one. Ben Lewis *really* likes his. I don't know what would be special about that particular router. Maybe it uses a different default subnet. It might automatically change some of its settings when you change the address, as shown in the video. The tips for disabling...

I *think* I understand most of that...lol. Several people recommended the TP Link Arch C7 version 2. I ordered one ...

Re: Indoor antenna readings on a Netgear Nighthawk M1

Wifi on a lot of these routers isn't their strong point. I use a separate device, connected via ethernet, to my internet source, as my wireless access point for other devices. 2.4 GHz travels farther and through walls better than 5.8 GHz. 5.8GHz has more bandwidth available and can use more advanced...

Re: Installing Custom FIrmware on MF279 LTE router

The first thing to check is if the MF279 is listed in one the supported OpenWRT devices. I believe this is the page to check for that: https://openwrt.org/toh/zte/start I don't see it listed. I'm not even sure if that is the list of supported devices or just a list of all ZTE devices that they've l...

Well, that certainly reduces the variables. Thoughts/ideas: - Try running traceroute on each connection to see if the packets are taking the same path (well, the same IP path, there could still be a different path under IP, I guess). - It is possible that connection state could be handled differentl...

Re: Verizon Latency Issues?

Just to understand the test conditions... When you are testing with the router, what is connected to it and how is it connected?

When you are testing with the phone, are you running something on the phone, or are you connecting another device to the phone? If so, what is connected and how?

Re: Indoor antenna readings on a Netgear Nighthawk M1

I've used cell mapper The two towers it seems to connect to the most is cell 16 and one that is more toward the west (near Macclesfield) that does not show up under AT&T. Both in the 700mhz range along with cell 15. Looks like 22 is the closest one in the higher frequency. https://www.cellmappe...
