With any setup there are Pro’s and Con’s
Could use an extension cord and put the DC power brick out in the environment or keep the power brick (PoE Injector) inside.
Many of the user on this form are DIY type, it only it only take 10mA to stop your hart.

Re: Need a modem for Verizon Jetpack pUDP
I often wonder why people bother with POE instead of simply running a wire for 120vAC along with the ethernet cable. These things do not have high amp draws so you could get away with small gauge electrical wire (depending on total run). 3 amps at 12V is only .3amps at 120V. There have been BIG cha...

PoE.png The long cable runs make me a little nervous there is a cost in loss signal and a $$cost. Would think about a PoE setup. Getting a modem and a SIM working would be Step-1. Antennas & cable runs can be a little tricky. For CA with 2x2 or 4x4 and long cable runs can get messy :o See what ...

Sounds crazy but.
The easiest way do you get great signal, just bring your gear to the tower for a speed test.
If that doesn’t fix your problem it’s your SIM

Could bring the modem to the tower for a test of signal and data speed test.

The LMR-400 cable is LOW loss, it's not NO loss.
May be why the MoFi is doing a better job with it's little antennas.
A better design would to have no cable or very short cable in your set.
Would be helpful if you shared your signal numbers

Re: MOFI4500 Random Modem Disconnects
Can you share more information about your set up MoFI Sim 4 or 7 ? Firmware version?? What Carrier and data plan??? Unlikely it’s a solder joint, if it’s a hardware problem would think leaky capacitor or clock oscillator Would take good notes can you time the disconnect. Is there a pattern?? Failure...

Re: MOFI4500 Random Modem Disconnects
Removing the SIM and doing a hard factory reset may do the trick.
It could flush the gremlins out of your modem.
Take screenshots of your set up before doing so!
Also as mentioned above getting a good two amp power brick very important!

Use https://www.cellmapper.net to help you map out your best options. Click on the dots to see which way the tower is pointed and what band they are using. T-Mobile band 71 600MHz works the best for rural settings Not the fastest, but sometimes the only option! SIM Solution, 100GB, 5G, T-Mobile, $50...

For you testing would turn off the WiFi and use a cable. Happy testing / hunting for speed. :ugeek: Better hardware can help but at the end of the day It’s the up to the tower to give you the signal and data you need. Re: MOFI4500 SIM7 download speed question
Speed.JPG I believe the problem is with the tower, NOT your modem, cable or antenna!! I have gotten 60Mbps with a MoFi Sim-7. Take your modem on a road trip and test with different towers. This would remove cables, and antennas from the equation. Power.JPG Tower.JPG Location….Location….. Lo...

Found this it's for a PS5 but may help. Well, I found my issue. Within the PS5 internet settings, I changed the mtu to 1473 and it cleared my issue. Also found this for PS4 https://www.dualshockers.com/ps4s-temporary-mtu-1473-fix-to-access-the-psn-made-official-by-sony  https://weakwifisoluti...

Re: Starting from Scratch
With this setup you do not need the cost or pain of antenna cables.
Even with good low loss cable, there will be signal lost.

Re: Mofi4500-Sim7 + Quectel EM12-G CAT12
Can I ask what Carrier you’re using and what type of cell phone
What band are you using with the MoFI
What is your Signal strength and Signal to noise ratio?

In theory maybe I think the chassis/router for a MoFi is a WE828. Which is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Will be better off starting fresh with a better new router. Will need to know how to load firmware and use the command line. The best thing about a MoFi is the GUI Sure a better Quality mode...
