Re: ATT- Transparent Proxies - Loss of Internet Randomly - Big Thread Of info
All VPN's degrade the raw data speed to a certain degree due to the encryption/decryption overhead at both the user and server side. Throughput depends primarily on the hardware (CPU/memory) the the VPN client it's running on. Most consumer grade mobile routers usually run on some "cheesy"...

Those who need internet for business can tell you that cable companies charge an arm and leg for it (actually both arms and legs). Intro offer starts at around $80/month and after a year it's well above $100/month. Plus they nickel and dime you for their modem/router (aka piece of crap), so you get ...

LAA band 46 seems to be used by ATT in certain areas only, at least for now. I have locked both my phone and modem to band 46 alone, but there was no signal at all. Here are the bands currently used by US carriers. 4G-LTE (* = Primary bands) ATT = *2, 4, 5, 12, 14, 17, 29, 30, 46, 66 TMO = 2, *4, 5,...

Re: LM960 for TMO B71
When logged into your Verizon account, you can try updating the device imei by entering a spare Verizon phone's imei (make sure it's clean, not lost/stolen or being used on another line), or call customer service and ask them to update it. Make sure the sim card is NOT inserted into the router or th...

Re: Need a viable high data plan on Verizon network for my MHS815L Jetpack
you might get lucky with verizons new $40 lte internet plan. They're currently rolling it out in limited markets. It's supposed to have a guaranteed speed and unlimited data. https://www.verizon.com/about/news/verizon-home-internet-rural-areas I also went with an unlimited verizon reseller for awhi...

There is an N-Type connector version available, please see below. Also, I'll be writing up a review on this shortly. For the money spent on this unit (11dB max gain), there may be better options. However, it being somewhat futureproof by supporting 5G frequencies may be its saving grace. Link: http...

Hello Bill. I would like to go with the page plus option for a Jetpack and have video throttling disabled at activation. 200 GB would be more than enough for me. I don’t see any icon below your name to push to PM you. Can you tell me how I contact you? Thank you very much. Honestly I wouldn't recom...

I really don't trust the specs on most generic, no-name brand antennas sold on Amazon or Ebay, because they put whatever "db" gains they want on the box. I do trust The Wireless Haven, Poynting, Proxicast and Wilson antennas.

No, that's called the "cheese box"! lmao
The WE3926 is even cheesier.

Situation Report: For the WG3526, nonscientific 'signal strength' went from the mid-70 percents to approximately 87-90%; I apologize for not having the actual numbers (yet). I was a little underwhelmed by the antenna's performance, as the 'before' was using stock, el-cheapo stick omni's in my attic...

I have tried to change DNS and it doesn't work. Don't know anything about IMEI edits. Do not have the AT Commands manual. Would like to have it if someone does have it. As of Aug. 1st 2020, PagePlus/Verizon and SimpleMobile/Tmobile seem to be blocking non-Sierra modems pretty aggressively. Currentl...

Bill - I've got a "cheesy" MoFi4500 as well. What would you recommend instead? I'd love a router that could lock on to a specific tower. I get one fast AT&T tower at night and one useless AT&T tower during the day because it must have a stronger signal during the day for some reas...

Bummer that is is SMA connection. I picked up one of these too while waiting for The Wireless Haven to restock their 15dBi flat panel. Need to see about adapting it to N-type connectors in order to use it with my lightning arrestors. Something like this might work, just make sure it needs SMA regul...

The latest SimpleMobile/PagePlus restrictions are mainly due to all the greedy Ebay selling those "cheap sim" plans. As as dealer just received an email warning about the fraud perpetrated by some dealers flipping sim's, and cramming multiple lines onto one account. What a lot of folks don...

I did and it's barley over 40GB I've been averaging between 200 - 250 GM per month. I have restarted it but haven't pulled out the sim card yet and tried it in a phone as I have to take the thing apart with the WE1026 to get at it. But that will eb my next step. The phone test should tell you where...

Seems like the modem is in the wrong composition mode. Try this first: AT!ENTERCND="A710" AT!RMARESET=1 Wait a minute, unplug/replug the sled adapter, then send these commands: AT!ENTERCND="A710" AT!IMPREF="GENERIC" AT!USBCOMP=1,1,109 <QMI mode or AT!USBCOMP=1,1,1009 fo...

LTE will always have bandwidth limitations even with multiple CA's. To get truly high speeds, we'll just have to wait a few years till 5G modem prices come down in the 2 to 3 hundred range, or tether some cheap/used/cracked screen 5G phone in the meantime. ;D

That should work fine as long as it's a quality cable.. BillA has reported success with that setup. You might want to ask him what brand of cable he has. It's been working perfectly fine at high speeds with an 20meters long quality Tripplite USB3 cable (can also be daisy chained) which can carry hi...
