Hmmm... So I've been attributing my fixed AT&T problems to using custom DNS servers. I've entered 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 into pretty much every manual DNS spot in my LTE router and normal router. While that may or may not be what fixed it, I do ALSO have a VPN tunnel on my main Asus router. The rou...

From what I can decipher from his post, the em20 doesn't support band 71 at all, while the telit can do 2+71, but 4x4 only on 2, while both modems can do 2+12, again with 4x4 only on 2. With most of your bandwidth coming from 2, I still think having 4x4 only on that band would give a nice increase, ...

It's in the firewall settings... Probably also would have worked had you left stock firmware on the Archer instead of goldenorb. I wouldn't worry about it since you have it working, though. Basically, since the 850 is a router in itself, you didn't need goldenorb to do the modem stuff, and it won't ...

In the case of the external USB modem, you would flash your main router (Tmobile Asus) with GoldenOrb/WiFix to be able to control the TTL settings. I'd find out exactly what model that router is before making any decisions. If it's an Asus rt-ac1900p (aka Asus rt-68u), then the wifi won't work at a...

I've seen better signal with stock omnis in the right spot inside the house than I have with even my parabolic grid in the attic.. There's just too much attenuation up there.. It's probably even worse for me because of the radiant barrier, but getting the antenna outdoors was a solid 25dbi gain.

Carrier aggregation is connecting to multiple bands... MIMO can work with even just one band. Re: EM12-G Carrier Aggregation AT&T
Yes, you're on A15... I can't guarantee that's the problem, but going up to A17 or A18 probably couldn't hurt...

Re: EM12-G Carrier Aggregation AT&T
What firmware versions do you guys have on your em12s? I think mine is on A17 (even though quectel sent me the a19beta, I haven't tried it yet), and my CA stays up all the time on AT&T. Up until my modem went completely non-responsive and had to be rebooted last night, I had 7 days of straight u...

Re: Google nest wifi router with CBA850
Is there a VPN setup on the nest? That can throttle your speeds if the router cpu can't handle it.

Re: Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
VPN speed is more dependent on the router than on the VPN servers.. The encryption will keep your router cpu maxed out. To get your speed back, use a better router between the mofi and your devices, with the mofi set in bridge mode so it becomes a dumb modem.

Yes, the 3g/4g modem settings have the APN settings there. Sending AT is a pita, though... I have some more info on that here:

Re: Asus router compatibility with M.2 USB Enclosures
Most Asus routers will 'work' with these modems... You can even send AT commands if you're comfortable in a Linux shell. I couldn't get decent speeds with my EM12-G connected directly to my Asus rt-ac1900p, though. It capped at around 20mbps for whatever reason. Probably the lack of actual Quectel d...

Re: My Experience (DP727L15 15dBi Panel vs Wilson Yagi 314411)
Yeah, the parabolic I got from Amazon pretty much only covered band 2... Band 12 reception was handled by an Omni on the diversity port. I have since swapped out the feedhorn with a mimo that covers 700mhz-2700mhz, so the omni is out of the equation and my speeds are much better (see image below). I...

Re: Airmaster 4000D with Asus Router
Does the Asus connect to it when it's in router mode? If not, then maybe the Wan port on the Asus is bad? Lan1 can be used in that case, just turn the dual-wan failover on with Lan1 as primary. If it does work in router mode, and it just isn't passing the dhcp when in bridge mode, Idk enough about t...

Re: 3G/4G/LTE - Wifi Antenna Suggestions
So what type of areas will you be primarily working in? If you'll be mostly in/around metro areas, constantly surrounded by multiple towers from all providers, then those 3-5 dbi omnis would suffice. If there's room in the case they could even be mounted directly to the modems and still be vertical ...

Re: My Experience (DP727L15 15dBi Panel vs Wilson Yagi 314411)
Might have something to do with being in the attic. I'd try getting them outside, if possible. Maybe the yagis aren't quite as affected by those materials since they're a bit more directional. I started with a cheap netgear flat panel in the attic, then tried a parabolic grid in the attic. Neither w...

Re: 3G/4G/LTE - Wifi Antenna Suggestions
Omg at that price with a cat4 modem inside... Makes cradlepoints look cheap. You could probably get better speeds from a single cat20 modem inside a WG series router with a couple flat panel mimos in the case (of course the case would have to be upright and pointed in the general direction of the to...

With AT&T, simply swapping over the sim and making sure the APN is correct is generally all you ever need to do

Re: T-Mobile HD Media Settings
I don't like VPN's because they slow down all connections. I'm not sure how robust the openvpn settings in OpenWrt are, as I've always used my Asus router to handle that, but I do know that with the Merlin AsusWRT firmware I can set it so that only specific IP addresses/ranges get tunneled. Right n...

Re: Overheatng modems
A heat sink and fan will help keep it as close to the ambient temp as possible, but I'd expect it to still stay around 60c if your attic is baking at 53c all day. Could you just mount it to the ceiling and pop the cable down through one of those brush faceplates? Mine is actually mounted right below...

Do you have any other router laying around that you could connect to that one? Wifi to the 2nd router, ethernet between the two.

Re: No Aggregation - Slow Speed
Do you have it locked to band 2? That's a fairly high-frequency band and your signal isn't good... It would normally seek out a 'worse' band with better signal if it's not locked. You definitely need to work on your signal either way.
