Re: b66 and n71 TMHI Trash Can Hack
I do have it setup that way now. I wondered if I should consider L1 and L2 as the "Primary" antenna? Is there ever a world where I point the two pairs in different directions? (one up and one straight for example) Wouldn't hurt to try to switch one are around here and there. See if someth...

I don't have any length on the j-arm, but I think I could make something out of PVC to temporarily test that. Do you think 2 feet higher would accomplish anything? It is possible. Just to get it away from the reflections of the roof. Can read this I posted along ago. Antennas can be finicky. https:...

Another small test is to play with what Antenna lead is to what modem lead on the can. Would start with one pair going L1 and L2. The other to L3 and L4.

OK so band 66 would be a faster band if you had decent connection to it. If you look at your signal strength for it more than likely is very bad. So if you get another antenna want to try those other bands again.

The tethering issue with certain phones is likely caused by the implementation of the hotspot app/firewall in the phone. It really doesn't matter what device you activate the service in. The purpose of tethering a phone to a router is two folds. 1. It's a legal "external modem". 2. You should be able to bypass the 5Mbps limit via the router's TTL and other settings (such as setting IPv4 only or IPv6 only). I would try the following TTL values, it can't hurt (64/65/66/117)...

Re: LTE Provider options for Home Internet
So I have been tethering a visible phone for quite some time now. As a back up when have issues with our main source of internet. For the last week it keeps going to the 5 up and down. Using the same 65 TTL that always worked before with a we826 router and rooter. Has anyone else seen this issue? Ma...

Is "magic" legal in the United States? Having hard time finding straight forward yes or no for this.Didneywhorl wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 10:47 am for your Visible, did you try changing the TTL and HL to 65/64? Some people have done "magic" to the modem to avoid counting as hotspot on phone plans.

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
Hello, Been using one of these for AT&T. With original orbi firmware. Being AT&T have no use for TTL settings. But would like to create a group of bands. Do I have to switch to this voxel to do that?

Hello, Read thru this as beginning to start to understand. https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=1286 The router set up will give the phones wifi coverage. You hook antennas to the router that are outside kind like you would for a TV. Same concept really. He might have mean to re-home you booste...

Re: Calyx Sprint/T mobile device and donation
Look into visible phone service. Has unlimited hot spot limit. Can use it right with your phone. Can connect one device to it. It is slower speeds but it will play Netflix and etc.
Visible phone service is ran on Verizon towers so should have good coverage. Don't get much simpler than that.

Re: Confusion
I decided on the NEXR5GO. It looks like it should do whatever I need. Now for the Modem card. Is there any one that is easier to get working than others? That can be a matter of opinion. In my opinion from what i seen that was suggested you the Quectel EM12 seems easiest to me. Less command lines t...

Re: dBm and download speed aren't matching up
I do have an Omni directional antenna I used before for awhile that came with the booster, it did okay but nothing like the signal we have now. I know that visible caps your hot spot at 5 Mbps which is more than enough for what I would use it for, but to be able to have 5 Mbps available is what I w...

T-Mobile,
They are really easy to set up for a sim card. Can use a ton of data and have no issues. Know several people that have done it. Can also check to see if you can get T-Mobile home internet as well.

Re: modem present/not connected
Well if you leave it all in can let it do it's own thing. Not all towers have the bands. Was just taking 13 out since it is typically the slower one.

Re: dBm and download speed aren't matching up
Well booster can be great for your cell phones in a fringe area. But if you consistent data internet wifi connection forget the booster. Need a modem directly hooked to to antenna no booster. I started out down that road you are on in the beginning. Always a head ache. Far as you signal strengths be...

Never used cricket. Have set up three AT&T post pay tablet plans with no issues yet.
