Re: Simple Mobile sim kit and old iphone TFW Verizon not T-Mobile

SimpleMobile was just one of Tracfone's various front names until this year they were purchased by Verizon. Earlier this year there was a huge push by Vzw to "upgrade" devices and sims and sent Vzw branded sims and secretly swapped customers to vzw towers. Had SimpleMobile for a few years until all of ...

From what I've seen it's a hard cap that even does this on a regular cell phone. I think they caught on to the game quick and capped all lines. Not 100% sure though.

Re: SimpleMobile throttling

Its because with 5g and even the speeds using CA people are using data at a much faster rate than ever before, a single line can congest a tower now like it would have taken 20 lines to do in the recent past the good news is unless it is a hard cap you can get around it with some device manipulation.

I've been using a SimpleMobile sim for close to a year with no throttling issues while averaging around 500gb a month. We just have a Netgear lb2100 and got the 40gb for $50 from target. Used it to stream football all weekend with no buffering but if you need more data than that obviously not a cost effective option.

That's a slick way to word it and dropping those hints :) Maybe some of the users will figure it out. Anyway, if you don't care about higher latency. You could always give Visible with party pay ($25) a try since you are talking about Verizon. It's a hit or miss but no hard cap.

The latest SimpleMobile/PagePlus restrictions are mainly due to all the greedy Ebay selling those "cheap sim" plans.

It sounds like BillA could provision your modem's IMEI or repair it to match a SIM card for SimpleMobile, a MVNO of T-Mobile if I have to guess only if the issue is the mismatch causing disruption.
