Re: Multi-Carrier Antenna Setup

I think you would be okay with single mast if you can keep at least a few feet between each providers antennas. thats' the sort of input i was looking for. Thanx. Someone needs to invent a 'tuneable' antenna. Where you can change/dial-in (either mechanically or electronically) both the frequencies ...

Multi-Carrier Antenna Setup

I have 3 working routers (Mikrotik RBM33g + 2 RBM11G's, all running R00ter) with 3 providers. At my current location, towers are in various directions, with Verizon to the East, AT&T to the East-SE and T-Mobile to the West. My ultimate goal is to bond all the available LTE connections together (...

Re: Thoughts on Mikrotik RBM11G / RBM33G

If you remember why you plugged via USB instead of mPCIE let us know. I would like to have this same board with at least two EM20-G connected. possibly because the pcie slots only carry pins for USB2.0, while only the USB port supports USB3.0, per https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/UM/RBM33G#he...

Re: WAN Bonding with ROOter and OpenMPTCProuter

oh, @bnh2, I've been pondering the 'network of gateways' thing you do with each modem/router on it's own subnet using VLANs. if all the WAN r00ters are on the same physical ethernet, couldn't one also just give each r00ter a separate ip all on the same subnet? eg, 192.168.1.2, 1.3 and 1.4. instead o...

Re: No Modem Present | EM160R-GL

As a followup to my own post, I'm now pretty sure my EM160 is dead. I have an older Lenovo laptop that usually fails to boot with an error message indicating 'un-whitelisted modem' when anything but a small list of modems is installed. I have an Fibocom L8650-gl and L860-gl that both behave this way...

Re: No Modem Present | EM160R-GL

In the same boat here. picked up a (new) Lenovo-branded EM160R-GL. No response from the modem in any of my m.2 to usb adapters or routers (tplink archer C7v5 and mikrotik RBM33g, both on GO/Rooter.) This is supposedly a NEW unit, so I'm thinking it can't just be dead. If these are somehow locked to ...

Re: DL speed tanked

what sort of antenna(s) connected to your modem, and did they get moved or re-oriented (maybe by strong wind, etc...) how far from tower are you? did someone park a truck in your line of sight in that direction? etc... If nothing changed at your end, could be something changed at the tower to cause ...

oh, any pointers on 'repairing' the IMEI on these (fibocom L850/860-GL) modems, if it's been 'corrupted'?...

Re: Verizon hotspot in modem

It's possible. the carriers seems to keep changing what we can make work or not. I was just explaining what works for me today on such a VZW plan. It may or may not work the same for you at your location, or maybe work now and get detected & throttled next week or 6 mos from now, or never. but i...

Re: WAN Bonding with ROOter and OpenMPTCProuter

That's thing of beauty! I totally get the benefit of keeping those antenna leads as short as possible, especially in a low-signal area. I'm getting over 200mbps with an RBM33g and on-board EM7565 with AT&T 'tablet' plan SIM and similar antennas (a pair of LPDA's @ 90 degrees from each other). I'...

Re: WAN Bonding with ROOter and OpenMPTCProuter

cool, thanx for that input! Any benefits/preference for modems in their own router boards (eg: mikrotik rbm33g or 11g connected to the OMR via ethernet) Vs. USB modems only connected directly to the OMR (using the OMR's USB port/s ala Rooter)? I read you've used the ethernet/vlan route, but wonderin...

Re: Fibocom L860-GL Antenna setup

sorry to revive an old-ish thread, but anyone know (or where to find ) band lock AT commands for Fibocom L850-GL (and/or L860-GL)? I picked up a cheap L850-GL and put into a USB adapter connected to my Rooter-ized TPlink Archer C7 with my Verizon SIM. It just worked, which was nice! network status p...

Re: WAN Bonding with ROOter and OpenMPTCProuter

Now that I have several working Rooter/modem/SIM setups (on VZW & AT&T,) I'm looking to try bonding with OpenMTCPRouter. I'd run the VPS on my own hardware behind our home gigabit fiber from Sonic (tested over 800mbps in both directions), and looking to aggregate up to 300mbps from 2-3 cell ...

Re: Verizon hotspot in modem

FWIW, i added a ~$20/mo 'tablet' plan to my Verizon account recently, using the IMEI of an IPad I own. The SIM has been working fine in a Rooter-ized Mikrotik RBM33G w/ EM7565 modem. I was just running a speedtest (typically get 60-100mbps at home) and saw the throughput drop to ~600kbps and a few s...

if not already, try setting to IPV4 only in the modem/connection profile/protocl type pick list (assuming that choice is available for that modem...) once applied, reboot them modem for good measure... i understand you can disable IPV6 on the LAN side by editing the interface to disable 'IPV6 assign...

Re: RM502Q-AE based cell scanner

OK, I'm a noob here, so take my input with grain of salt. Not sure 2 minutes is long enough for a modem to settle on the best possible combination of bands at each location. You might think about giving it 10-15 minutes before doing any testing, then run a few tests before moving on. Yes, CA is only...

Re: MC7455 produces differnt speeds in differnt devices?

OK, all seems well now. I have a working unlimited AT&T tablet plan SIM and I'm getting similar speeds on 3 different devices, a TP-link Archer C7v5, a MikrotikRBM33g, and an RBM11G, all on latest Rooter pre-release build (from 9/17). I don't know if it was equalizing the builds on the units, or...

Re: MC7455 produces differnt speeds in differnt devices?

Just noticed a difference in the default custom firewall rules on the Rooter/OpenWRT versions for each device. The Rooter version installed on the TP-link has the TTL=65 iptables rules DISabled, while the Mikrotik version has it ENABLED. Odd, as I would expect 'fixing' the TTL on the WAN side might ...

Re: MC7455 produces differnt speeds in differnt devices?

- yes, I connect to both the TPlink and the RBM33G via Ethernet - in the RBM33G, i place the modem in the left-most slot, furthest from the USB port. I'm aware of the jumper to disable USB2.0 in favor of the middle pcie slot, but i'm not using either of those. - I would think USB2's max speed of 480...

MC7455 produces differnt speeds in differnt devices?

Hi, first post here, so please be kind and/or point me at a better forum for this discussion. :-) TIA. I have an MC7455 modem card (with generic FW, I believe) connected to a pair of antennas using a Three UK SIM card (for now, connects roaming to local AT&T tower, typically bands 2 & 12). W...
