Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

Any advice on getting my RM500Q-AE to connect to 5G? I have been unable to connect on vsbl: I see it is available: +QENG:"NR5G-NSA",311,480,65535,-32768,-32768,-32768 +QTEMP:"sdx-case-therm-usr","49" OK Tue Jun 15 19:14:50 2021 : /dev/ttyUSB2 AT+COPS=3,0;+COPS? +COPS: 0...

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

Thanks Bill, I am going to switch to the SIM8200EA-M2 going forward; I just ordered a couple of test units, I would like full band support. I feel like the one vendor pushed me to the other model due to inventory issues. The data-only SIM from Fi is locked to T-mobile, it did connect without issue o...

Bill - Where did you find the specs showing which frequencies have NSA support? I looked at the manufacturer spec sheet and was not able to find it:

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

Thanks Bill, I removed some of the profiles but am seeing a SIM CARD error again. I am going to try a google fi SIM and see if I can hop on the t-mobile network. The SIM works fine in my MC7455. Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

the hardware design pdf on this page is very useful https://www.4gltemall.com/simcom-sim8300-m2.html I don't know if you can actually get mmwave antennas easily? The pdf above mentions you have to get a QTM525/527 (page 9-10) to get n260/261, but those are meant for phones? If you scroll down to pa...

Re: 5G multi-carrier M.2 modem

I am noticing the lack of antennas, I had a separate post asking that exact question since I did not see any in the store. I think I might be overcomplicating the design with mmWave support. I feel like the SIM8202G-M2 will meet 5G national requirements for ATT/VZW/Tmobile. Going to order a sample a...

Re: 5G multi-carrier M.2 modem

I am leaning towards the SIM8202G-M2 for the non-mmWave radio(s), it supports SA and NSA: The SIM8202G-M2 is the Multi-Band 5G NR/LTE-FDD/LTE-TDD/HSPA+ module which supports R15 5G NSA/SA up to 2.4Gbps data transfer. and it seems to cover the frequencies: Frequency Bands Sub-6G(SA) n1, n2 ,n3, n5 ,n...

An explanation to load-balancing and cloud firewalls

Hello - I recently wrote up a less technical explanation of my load balancing solution. I do plan on writing up a step-by-step guide but thought an explanation of how this more complex solution can benefit users. There is a similar solution Tutorial on this board by @bnhf2 but, I was already using Z...

5G multi-carrier M.2 modem

Heya Folks, I am having a hard time selecting which modem will work best in my situation. I am trying to outfit a couple of boats with a WG1608, a 4G Sierra 7455 and a 5G m.2 modem. I would like the modem m.2 modem to be able to use the three major US networks since depending on where I am docked mi...

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

Has anyone worked with a SIM8300G-M2? Are there any problems with running this with a WG1608? I am trying to figure out how many antennas I am going to need to support mmWAVE on VZW. Documentation is missing from simcom website right now.
