Re: Visible Won't Connect

I ran into a similar issue with visible on my EM-160R starting back in september. Lots of trouble getting it to connect and very slow speeds when it actually would. I experienced the APN symptoms you described as well. Wish I could say I figured it out but I have basically given up on visible. Went...

Re: Visible Won't Connect

I was able to put the Visible sim card in my Nighthawk and it is working there. I hope that does not mean there is something wrong with my EM12! It's odd that with the EM12, it will connect without any APN entered into the profile, but as soon as one is entered, it just gets stuck on connecting. I h...

Haven't heard of issues currently. Believe my uncle's is still going.
Yes, seems to work fine when I put it in a phone.

Visible Won't Connect

Hello All, I have run into an interesting issue I am hoping someone can help me solve with my Visible setup. I have been running a WG3526 + EM12 for almost a year without any issues. We travel full time so we are all over the place and have had pretty good success assuming Verizon isn't too congeste...

Re: Mint Mobile Throttling

I have a WG3526 with an EM12-G. I originally set up the router for use with Visible, the only thing I changed for Mint was changing the APN name to Wholesale. It worked great while the usage was under 35 GB. The behavior I described in the original post occurs while the SIM is in the router or in an...

Mint Mobile Throttling

Welp, I made the mistake of picking up a Mint Mobile plan to get access to the T-Mobile network. It worked great until I realized that their "Unlimited" plan is actually only 35 GB, then it throttles you down to 120 kpbs. This isn't listed anywhere except on the terms and conditions page. ...

Re: Visible Wireless Sim work??

The first step I always take is to see what the speed is like in an actual phone and then go from there. Just like BillA referenced if you are in a busy area, then Visible gets whatever is left over in terms of tower bandwidth. I know that if I am in an area where my postpaid Verizon phone is strugg...

Re: Has anyone ever attempted to try a band lock on GoldenOrb?

Band locking is a function of the modem being used. GoldenOrb makes this easier though by allowing AT commands to be sent through the GUI. Here is an example of how to band look for Quectel modems: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=943 It's not quite as point and click as the MoFI s...

Re: ZBT WE826-T2 PRE AT&T $20 IPAD DATA SIM INSTALL ...

IMEI manipulation is at best a legal gray, but a lot of people would consider it illegal in the U.S. and therefore they don’t allow it’s discussion on these forums. Some modems can do it, others can’t. Best thing to do is to google your specific modem for that kind of information. Unfortunately, sin...

Re: Question about Visible

It really depends on the tower traffic. You will always get the lowest priority on the tower. It’s our main internet source, but can be almost unusable in some of the areas we have gone to. Where we are at currently, it’s pretty much unusable from 7-9pm. I would just recommend testing it out during ...

Re: Slowness after idle - Disabling modem sleep?

In GoldenOrb, under Modem and Connection Profile, the default Ping Interval is set to 10 seconds for connection monitoring. I just set it to ping 1.1.1.1 to see if my link was up. Considering this address most likely receives millions of requests per minute, I doubt they are ever going to notice the...

Looks like there is a semi active thread over on Quectel about this issue.

Re: Noob in the woods...

If you are seeing consistently higher upload speed than download speeds, than the tower you are connecting to is most likely congested. Any of the modems that accept pigtail connections will allow for a rooftop antenna. Your only issue is going to be connectors. There are several different styles th...

Re: Putting MH4 pigtails on the Quectel EM20-G M.2 modem

I gave up with the ones that came with the USB3.0 To NGFF M.2 Key B Adapter Enclosure With SIM Card Slot on The Wireless Haven. It came with two MHF4 pigtails so I bought 2 more from NetSolution.Shop. Those clicked into place on nearly the first try. I ended up spending a little over 30 minutes try...

Re: Securing u.fl and mhf4 connectors

Most laptops that I have taken apart used some kind of tape to secure the antenna wires from moving around. I’m assuming if that works for laptops that get thrown around it might work for your situation.

Not exactly sure of the type of tape though. Maybe Kapton?

It worked!

Not sure what I did wrong the first time but it’s working in the router SIM slot now.

Thanks!

Easy SIM Swapping

I just finished building my new setup thanks to this fantastic community! I went with the EM12-G and WG3526. I put everything together and realized it wasn't reading my SIM card. After some reading, I realized I needed to put the SIM in the M2 adaptor and not the SIM slot on the router itself. Got e...

Re: Noob with a mifi 7730L

We have been full-time RV'ing for about 6 months now and I am still trying to figure out my setup. I would suggest having multiple carriers as sometimes you just don't know when one will work and the other won't. We have been in several areas where Verizon had no signal but ATT worked just fine. A w...
