Re: Question about Visible

I'm on month 3 or 4 of Visible, and overall it's the most stable I've had in years. I have 2 lines with some random Party Pay people for $25/line total cost = $50/month. The 5 Mbps throttle on my load-balanced MR1100's (repaired IMEI's) is tolerable, and even works M-F for Zoom sessions with the kid...

Re: Question about Visible

I have 2 Visible lines to try and avoid raising anyone's hackles. I haven't noticed any slowdowns except for pretty harsh de-prioritization on the weekends when the towers are congested.

Re: Starlink now available to order

2nd that hobby sentiment!! I signed up for a pre-order, even if it's just to get in the queue. My load-balanced dual-LTE Visible ($25*2/month) has been pretty stable the last 2-3 months since I started it, but on the weekend it's abysmal (as expected - tourists come in to town and flood the towers)....

Re: Network Bridge/load balancing x2 connections

Edgerouter X will do it easily. Cheap, reliable. Been using one for a year or so without problems. I was doing 2 wan failover, but I’m going to try 2 load balance + 1 failover this weekend.

Re: Verizon service advice?

What’s the Verizon unlimited prepaid? I have a data only prepaid this month and it’s $65 autopay but throttled after 15+15gb. Are you talking a cell line?

The 5mbps is plenty for me. That could even handle a few concurrent Zoom I bet. Well, I’ll test that at least.

Re: Verizon service advice?

I ordered a Visible SIM ($3/first month), activated the SIM in my phone, and popped the SIM in my M1, changed the APN to vsblinternet and works so far. Curious if the ban-hammer comes down. Throttled at 5 MBit, and ping is about 100ms. I plan on picking up a few more SIMs to load balance and be fair...

Re: Verizon service advice?

I'd be satisfied with 1 Mbps down if it was 24/7 with ~ 100ms latency, yes!! Verizon SAYS they throttle to .6 Mbps, but my experience is that is not true. I could survive on .6 Mbps if it was 24/7, but in reality it gets throttled to 0 - 0.02 Mbps (basically 2G/EDGE speeds). The worst part of the ex...

Re: Verizon service advice?

I'm going to give them a try. It'd be worth having 3 lines with them round-robin'ed through my edgerouter at this point, as crazy as that sounds. My collection of SIM chips doesn't seem to be going down!

Verizon service advice?

I have a cabin in not-too-rural Welches, Oregon. Without a booster, I have nothing. With a booster, I get T-Mo intermittently, and Verizon works GREAT. No experience with Sprint or AT&T here, but don't expect much. For gear, I have a WeBoost 4G, an LB1120, and 2 NightHawk M1's. I have the RV 20G...
