Re: does the WE826 support a USB wifi adapter?

Just to see what would happen, before I saw your message, I plugged in an old 2.4GHz "n" adapter that I wasn't using anymore and it recognized it. I didn't try my dual-band '"ac" adapter yet, it'll be interesting to see if it's supported since it's much newer. The whole reason fo...

does the WE826 support a USB wifi adapter?

I just got to wondering whether I could upgrade to 802.11ac by plugging in a wifi stick.

Re: WE826-T2 - Installing Modem Manager

Does this work with an original 826, or just the version 2?

Also, it sounds like this can support multiple modems? Can I plug my DSL modem into one of the ethernet ports and configure the software to use it if and only if the cell connection is down?

Re: WE826/MC7455 connected but losing upstream ipv4 connection

I have the same hardware on the iPad plan, set up by the well-known eBay seller who used to advertise on Facebook constantly. (I didn't do it myself because I was curious as to whether he might have some other plan than the iPad one that might not be subject to deprioritization.) At least once a wee...

What is the difference between the 2018-09-02 and 2019-01-13 versions of GoldenOrb? Just bug fixes, or different features?

tablet wont hold connection to WE826

I have a cheap tablet (Sero 7 Pro) that's still running like Android 4.0 or 4.1 (seriously). It will connect to my WE826 but any time I try to move lots of data, it disconnects. Sometimes it reconnects automatically, other times the tablet's wifi goes completely offline and needs to be reenabled fro...

Gotta ask, are you sure your antenna connections to the modem are good?

Re: why is my MC7455 suddenly camping on a weak signal?

Since I set it to not use band 30 it's been behaving as expected. Only problem is that I'm over the 22-gig mark and getting deprioritized a lot til my next month starts. The previous month I was also over 22 gig early and didn't notice it at all. I suppose a bunch of people got new phones for Christ...

Re: why is my MC7455 suddenly camping on a weak signal?

You shouldn't need to unplug the power, but every time I've changed bands I've had to reset the router, not the modem, to reestablish internet traffic even though the modem was connected to the tower. No idea why. I originally thought it was a Sprint thing but it happens with AT&T too.

Re: 4K HTPC Network Setup

What device did you put it in and why? I put it in a WE826/MC7455 setup, because it seemed to be the cheapest option to leave plugged in permanently (I don't want to have to babysit a battery-powered hotspot) and the cheapest option with decent antenna connectors. (The new AT&T hotspots can sup...

Re: why is my MC7455 suddenly camping on a weak signal?

I don't have time for a detailed reply, but I'm getting the tower information by taking the eNB ID from the status screen (I don't know what command to use to get this, it doesn't seem to show up in the gstatus output) and plugging it in on cellmapper.net. (The tower locations there are crowdsourced...

Re: why is my MC7455 suddenly camping on a weak signal?

I did in fact lock the modem to band 2 last night. It seems to now stay on the closer towers 99% of the time, but still has jumped to the distant tower at least once. (As an aside, I've also seen it pick up the distant tower on band 30, which in theory should have, relative to band 12 or even 2, alm...

why is my MC7455 suddenly camping on a weak signal?

I have a WE826/MC7455 setup on the AT&T iPad plan. My antenna is the 1DP1727X15, connected with two short pieces of LMR400. It's all set up inside my house for the moment, as I don't want to expend any time and money on an outdoor setup til I see if (1) AT&t is going to crack down on non-iPa...

Re: fringe signal on omni antenna disappears on directional antenna

The 1DP1727X15 is the one you sell with both horizontal and vertical polarity output. I have both of them connected to the modem. I didn't pay attention to which one was main and which was aux, but I think I did rotate the antenna at some point. I'll have to check that again tomorrow.

fringe signal on omni antenna disappears on directional antenna

So I have the WE826 and MC7455 working on Sprint band 25. I wanted to see if I could get a band 41 signal for more speed (my previous hotspot was locked to band 25 by the supplier). Using the stock omni antennas that came with the WE826, I can get a faint signal that varies between about -115 and -1...
