Help troubleshooting connnection issue - tmobile

Hi All, I've been using a WE826-T running GoldenOrb with an EM06-A on T-mobile(MobileCitizen) since 2020 with essentially zero issues. It's super rock solid, so I mostly leave it alone. What APN did you set? The old sprint APN wont work any more. Needs to be B2B.t-mobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com.

In my experience so so far with the new t-mobile sims is that you need to match modem identities.

Is the router seeing the sim card? That would rule out any question about where the sim is inserted. If you see sim information on the Modem > Network Status page then you are good.

Do you have the modem in LTE/4g mode only? you can do that with:

Code: Select all

Cell Tower Height

Anyone know an easy way to find the height of a specific cell tower? cellmapper doesn't seem to have that information, or at least not that I see. antennasearch has been down for a while for me, not sure if they have height or not.

Thanks

Re: PagePlus - mc7455 possible ?

one possibility with verizon (pageplus) is you could activate your sim first on a verizon branded/whitelisted phone and then switch the sim to your router. I've done this with phones and it worked fine, never tried it on a router but I assume it would be the same.

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

You can try forcing it onto band 41, by excluding all other bands (in other words only including band 41 in the band list), provided that there's enough signal in your particular area. Yeah I tried that a few times, couldn't ever get it to connect. So it must not be a strong enough signal on band 4...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Just a random update in case its useful to anyone. I've been successfully running the WE826-T2 with a EM06-A on Sprint for a couple weeks now. Its been great and stable. I get 25-30 Mbps down and 2-4 Mbps up on B25, sometimes higher but that is pretty average. I live in a fairly treed area, I think ...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Try using this command and see is it helps: AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1 That will force the modem to use LTE Only. To re-enable it to auto mode: AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",0,1 Ok thanks I did set it to LTE only via LuCI web interface under Modem > Miscellaneous I think it might of been w...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Are you speed testing over LAN or Wifi on tge new device? good point I was testing over Wifi. I will run the test again over Ethernet and see if there is a difference. It's definitely a noticeable difference when browsing...but again that is over wifi. The speedtest.net results are about half...

oops I must admit I have the EM06-A not a EP06-A

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Yeah mind-reading is one of my special talents. lol I use the Quectel EP06-A almost exclusively, it's a great value, has all the major US bands, and no disconnects. I ended up getting a Quectel EP06-A, it did seem like a good value. Got it working with sprint this evening. Although it's currently g...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

You shouldnt need mobile citizen, you can call Sprint directly and have it swapped in minutes. Just make sure you write down the device (r850)phone number. Its the account number. Call Sprint, tell them your device broke. Give them the telephone number of your r850, and then give them the info they...

Interesting! Thanks for the detailed response, I was getting a lot of mixed messages searching the different forums. I have a Franklin r850 that the usb port broke on so it doesn't charge, I have another r850 I tried putting the sim in but it said sim locked. I'm waiting for a response from tech sup...

Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Hi All,

Anyone have experience putting a Sprint LTE Sim Card in a new device? do you have to have sprint update the account with the new device IMEI/MEID?

Just curious what peoples experiences are.

Thanks!
