Re: LTE Provider options for Home Internet

Honestly, I try to avoid any providers that route their traffic through different/additional portals than the main providers APN. This is why visible ping times suck. Granted i've not tried them to see if you can avoid their APN or not, but initially liked the idea of a carrier (US Mobile) having a...

It would probably work, but you would have to play around with the antennas "pairs" to see which combination works best on two 2xMIMO modems.

Re: Cricket Simply Data Plan with LTE Router

Greetings, I had this setup working previously, but lately I can't get connected to cricket, and after reading above posts, I re-checked my EC25AF and now cricket says is not compatible?? How I can tell if the issue is cricket, or some software or hardware problem on my end? The usb enclosure and m...

Re: AT&T Unlimited for Tablet Plan Question

Thanks Bill. I appreciate your efforts with all this info. This is the key thing I'm missing. I didn't realize that I could create new profile and set the APN. I thought that when tethering is used, the tablet somehow ignores APN settings and gets a APN from the SIM that can't be changed by any use...

Re: Anyway to pull in this band?

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying that. Sorry to add confusion. I think some of the phone spec websites do not give accurate info on the cellular band capabilities of the device. No problem, here's are a couple of sites which seems to have pretty accurate specs on all phones. SM-A516U https://www.ph...

Re: AT&T Unlimited for Tablet Plan Question

Thanks, I'll certainly give it yet another go. I successfully use a TTL setting of 65 when I use the same hardware to tether a phone on Visible. That lets me use native tethering without EasyTether to avoid the 5 Mbps hotspot speed limit. I've had no luck doing the same with AT&T. Pretty much e...

Re: MC7455 and Visible by Verizon, Grammie help!

Does the simplemobile carrier you posted earlier have the same latency issues as visible does using Verizon? SimpleMobile uses Tmobile towers with truly unlimited data for only $50/month. I've been using around 500gigs/months for the past 5 years, and seen others go over 1,000gigs (that's 1 TeraByt...

Re: Anyway to pull in this band?

I don't think the Samsung A51 or the A71 pick up low band 5G. I was thinking about doing the same thing, but will probably look to a phone that picks up both the low and mid band. Just something to consider for people who are more rural, like myself. As I mentioned previously, there are two version...

Re: AT&T Unlimited for Tablet Plan Question

You're misunderstanding what problem I'm solving with EasyTether. It's not general speed, video throttling or otherwise. I'm tethering to a tablet using USB on the AT&T $20 tablet plan. That plan has a hard throttle on all hotspot traffic to 128 kbps after 10 GB. It didn't do this until a coupl...

Re: AT&T Unlimited for Tablet Plan Question

That's basically what I'm doing with a Raspberry Pi ( https://databurst.medium.com/running-easytether-and-wireguard-on-a-raspberry-pi-4-3804a2bc9447 ). That worked well for me with an Android phone on AT&T. I'm not running EasyTether my laptop or other LAN devices. That link gives instructions ...

@BillA Sorry old post, but any cost effective Android phone/router combo you recommend? Currently only have iPhones in my household, along with a nighthawk M1 Pretty much any Android will work fine, as long as it has USB Tether option in settings. I use a Samsung S9 with great results of around 200...

Thanks a ton for your reply. Do you know if there are any recommended builds or build guides for someone that uses a Mobile Citizen reseller hotspot right now? A late reply, but I would recommend the thewirelesshaven.com shop. They got a good selection of routers and modems at reasonable prices, wi...

Hello BillA, this is very useful to know. In a few months I'll be in the USA for a few months, and I'll need LTE service. Same as you, given all the hacks, I don't want to give carriers my personal information. It is my primary concern and I only want to use carriers that will allow me to stay anon...

Re: Unlimited AT&T Post Paid Tablet Plan with MoFi

With conventional hotspot devices like a mifi 8800L and Netgear LB1120 will stay connected with no disconnects at all. The issues seem to be something to do with rooter somehow. When it does disconnect got to manually power cycle the thing to reconnect to my understanding. This isn't working for us...

Thanks Bill, I am going to switch to the SIM8200EA-M2 going forward; I just ordered a couple of test units, I would like full band support. Bill - Where did you find the specs showing which frequencies have NSA support? I looked at the manufacturer spec sheet and was not able to find it: The SIM8202G-M2 bands/SA/NSA specs are right on the main product info page. https://www.simcom.com/product/SIM8202GM2.html However I don't think that'...

I have currently, and successfully, setup a mofi4500-Sim7 v3 at my parents house and at my sisters house. I have no idea what actual modem is inside it though; so no idea if this is helpful or not. I received my sim8202g-m2, I am not able to get it to connect though: I saw a SIM CARD error, I reseated the card but did not see any difference. It does seem like it is reading the card: According to the specs, the SIM8202G-M2 supports band n41 in NSA mode and band n71 in SA mode only, therefore y...

Re: T-Mobile unlimited home internet.

My advice to anyone looking to try out a new carrier, is to borrow a phone (something fairly modern like a Samsung-S8/iPhone-8 or newer) from friends, family, or neighbors on that particular carrier, and run some speeds tests in and around the home. Tests should be run during the peak-hours of 9am-9...

Are you referring to the iPad prepaid plans being blocked by ATT, or the postpaid (or both)? The ATT $35 prepaid iPad plan is no longer available for new users. The postpaid iPad plan should work in a router, however some have received a warning email about excessive usage (over 200gigs/month), and...

Re: Visible Wireless Sim work??

Even if you didn't have the right TTL should still get the 5 down cap. Getting .75 is some other issue would think. 0.75Mbps sounds like a throttled speed, which could be due to several reasons. 1. Lack of signal (simple as that) 2. Wrong TTL which used up all the high speed hotspot data, and now r...
