Re: M2M NEXG suddenly not connecting to B2

Re: M2M NEXG suddenly not connecting to B2

Also, after scouring Cellmapper, I can't seem to find nearly any of these cells it says i'm connecting to, and I am still aimed at the closest tower less than 5 miles away. All other towers are 7+ miles away. It seems like some of the PCIs in the 170ish range are a tower located the opposite directi...

M2M NEXG suddenly not connecting to B2

Hey guys, been playing around with this the last few days, and it seems like I'm suddenly not receiving B2. Nothing changed other than some subpar weather the last few days (I.E. wind and quite a bit of rain). Using the 2x 15 dBi panel antennas, M2M NEXG, and EM7576 modem. I seem to no longer be pic...

Re: Sierra Wireless Modems - Programming Carrier Bands

Very helpful post as always my friend. Curious question I haven't been able to find an answer on as of yet - is there a way to set a "main" band in the group while still using others for CA? B2 on my local tower gives me the highest speeds (20Mhz width), yet also has the weakest signal. Al...

Re: M2M EM7576 Login Error - Bad argument #1

For those curious, I did find the fix to this issue. I tried clearing cache through browser but to no avail. I am not experienced with PuTTY software, but was able to login through SSH and use command line rm -r /tmp/luci-indexcache to clear the indexcache. Everything is working as expected! This pr...

Not sure if this link would help me for the M2M but considering trying it as well. Power reboot for both PC and router did nothing to fix the issue as it seems to be a software issue for sure.

M2M EM7576 Login Error - Bad argument #1

Hey guys just got home and having some login issues with my M2M today. Been doing well with my temporary setup on the back deck and just received everything I need to roof mount my antennae! I made one last run to the hardware store today for the final touches for everything, and after getting home ...

Re: M2M Router - Wifi Cards flipped/Slow speeds (.5mb/s)/no ipv6

So after freezing my ass off outside (I think its 25 real feel right now here), I decided to play with distance between antenna/directional pointing. I had them separated by a single wavelength as recommended, but decided to bring the bottom antenna closer to the top in case LOS might be affecting m...

Re: M2M Router - Wifi Cards flipped/Slow speeds (.5mb/s)/no ipv6

Replied to your PM Nick and added some pics that may (or may not, lol) give you some insight to towers around you. As I stated there, hard to believe AT&T has as many towers as opensignal showing. Could be wrong, but that sure is heavy concentration. Wondering if you roaming? Think most towers ...

Re: M2M Router - Wifi Cards flipped/Slow speeds (.5mb/s)/no ipv6

Your problem is the AUX connector port (RXD) on the EM7565. This is most likely due to the MHF4 pigtail connector has popped off, or is connected to the GPS port as opposed to the AUX. Its like you've done this before! Aux port had indeed been disconnected from the MHF4 - reconnected and second ant...

Re: M2M Router following build guide - Wifi cards are flipped?

Just be extremely careful when using AT Commands on the EM7565, and make sure you are NOT using commands that were meant for the MC7455 (i.e., resetting the modem to OEM). Im trying to decipher the AT guide from Sierra as we speak - not sure my At password for the EM7576 though and now you've scare...

Re: M2M Router - Wifi Cards flipped/Slow speeds (.5mb/s)/no ipv6

An update for those who care to see how this is progressing! After setting up a temporary 10' mast on the deck, I've reached plugged in speeds of 15 down and 3.37 up, now just need to hone in on which towers I should be aiming at. I seem to get conflicting info about different towers depending on wh...

But for your mast mount, share what you are dealing with. Very hard to recommend anything when do not know type of structure you are mounting to. Garage.jpg House.jpg A couple pictures of my options. Re: M2M Router not receiving signal - Help appreciated!

So after reinstalling the omni Antennae and taking the router on the back deck, I was in fact able to get signal. Strength 51% CSQ 16 RSSI -81 dBm RSRP -115 dBm RSRQ -18.9 Obviously setting up the yagis will definitely help dramatically improve the signal, but only had about 5 minutes before a downp...

Re: WE826 VS M2M NEXG H721 VS USB enclosure

If you are really serious about your network, then I would highly recommend running separate dedicated access point(s) and a dedicated router/4G modem. All modern 802.11 wifi standards have MIMO, and the latest use beamforming. Beamforming is dependent upon the client as well, and most don't suppor...

WE826 VS M2M NEXG H721 VS USB enclosure

So I've got my cart filled to the brim with everything I need for atleast a fairly solid setup. I'm currently torn on routers. I've decided on the EM7576 Modem from Sierra, but am torn on how to implement it in the system. We do a lot of streaming and gaming, and have quite a few smart devices and r...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area

Maybe they meant a 100x increase in signal strength? That would be 20dbm, which I think could be possible. Like I said before, forget the signal booster and just setup a connection for your internet, and use wifi calling. The problem with high gain antennas is they are very directional. If you don'...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area

100db of gain has got to be false advertising. Never heard of that :) Sounds like you have the hardware you need to get started with a basic setup. Probably only need a sim card and some cables. I would only worry about lengths of cable of you are NOT using LMR400. LMR400 can go a long ways, but ge...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area

I don't have any experience with the WE826 acting as an access point, as I have internal dedicated APs. In my experience all in one devices typically don't perform as well as separating the functions. Plus sometimes you need the AP to be in the center of the house and that doesn't work when you hav...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area

I'm not sure what you mean by signal booster when talking about the various Sierra modems? I assume you mean for cell service? If so, you can just use wifi calling, once you get a better 4G setup for your internet. If you are going to use AT&T I'd recommend spending the extra 50 bucks and getti...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area

Also worth mentioning, I'm considering doing something like a conventional gigabit router or mesh home network for the wifi, but if I could get a very strong router combo, I'd much rather have just a single device. In this case, would it be better to just use a M.2 to USB 3.0 enclosure vs something ...

Looking for the best setup for my rural area

Hey guys, new to the forum but have been doing a LOT of research on this topic. Essentially I purchased a house in a rural area and was told by our ISP that service was available - turns out that couldn't have been further from the truth. My satellite connection is iffy at best and the 1mb/s or less...
