Re: High ping

I'm using a t-mobile data only SIM. They aren't different plans. I'm physically moving the SIM card between different devices. The phone is a OnePlus 8. Which is a 5g phone, but I'm only testing on lte. I thought it might be firmware but I didn't see any 3rd party firmware for any of these devices....

Re: High ping

What plan and carrier are you using in your router versus the plan and carrier in your phone? What phone? Unfortunately cellular ping under 100 is pretty common. I have gotten sub 20ms ping on speed tests with cellular routers. (WG3526-P from thewirelesshaven.com with a Quectel EM160R-GL, the WG1608...

Re: High ping

I've had a few plans across pretty much all of the providers typically used and usually see anywhere from 25ms to 100ms latency. 25ms is about the best I've seen in a few years. If using an MVNO provider they are even higher latency due to additional routing on their end of things through different ...

Re: High ping

The high ping can be many things.

Would bring your modem on a road trip and test with different towers.

Take good notes 📝

Re: High ping

I checked with them first they say they don't service that address. I find this weird since I basically built home internet off their network. Fyi Only need a friend with an address with service. Have the modem ship to that address and setup auto pay The modem is not locked to address.

Re: High ping

I never actually used the phone for services or VoIP. I only used it for latency& speed tests. Right, however, the phone still may have the ability to prioritize certain packets differently than a data only modem/router setup. I'm not saying this is what is happening, just offering that it may ...

Re: High ping

This was genius... I just ordered it. They only need the address to verify service, but they were still willing to send it to my address. So I ordered for service at my buddy's house and had it shipped to mine. We'll see if this works any better :-) Do you get a T-Mobile at your location?? What are...

Re: High ping

Yes. I got t-mobile home internet. Ordered it for my buddy's address & had it delivered to my address. I disconnected 2 if the internal antennas & hooked up a mimo external antenna. I'll post whatever signal info I can get. Cool 8-) Fyi there have been reports the power brick for the "...
