Re: Need a modem for Verizon Jetpack pUDP

Hey, welcome! I would 100% go with a WG3526-P, gigabit POE router, and use the Quectel EM160 inside the router. No usb adapters, no long cable losses. The USB3 enclosure/adapter is really only good if you are CERTAIN you will be getting over 500Mbps, all the time. USB cables up to 10-12 feet would b...

Re: Need a modem for Verizon Jetpack pUDP

I have read the only way to be sure your modem isnt banned is for verizon to have the device registered in their database under your account. You can call in and register the device. Simple. Of course if verizon has the device registered they will know what it is and most of the things like changing...

Re: Need a modem for Verizon Jetpack pUDP

I think the power and supply idea has gotten taken out of context. These routers are run with 12Watt to 48Watt power supplies in most cases. You can upgrade to more, but generally do dont see more than 12V 4A power supplies for these. That said, upwards of POE++ 48V-78W poe injectors like: https://t...

A mesh router would work, just make sure the router has a different IP address, so there's no IP conflicts.

As far as the cable in a window, thats up to creativity.

Re: Need a modem for Verizon Jetpack pUDP

Today, I for cat18 in place of 5G and plug and play I would go with the new LT18 router: https://thewirelesshaven.com/lt18 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZAUY5kValY If you want to build a unit that can later be upgraded to 5G then yeah I would say the same thing with the EM160R-GL instead. I am also on verizon in a very fringe area. No chance for coverage from anyone BUT verizon actually. The deprioritization issue is on the verizon side and I know no way around it other then getting a different plan with more "high speed" data. Now as far as the basics on what to do.... In ...

Re: EM9191: SIM not inserted

There is an AT command At!selrat=? you can send to sierra modems and specifically on the em91xx series modems you can choose to do "5G Only" and it will only run 5G SA mode if it's available, which with T-Mobile it usually is especially with n71

@Didneywhorl Okay thank you, I'm guessing the NEXS2GO has a feature that I can use it with a Netduma R2 without causing a double NAT? I guess I'd plug it into the Netduma WAN port after I run it through the poe brick. You would want to apply a static IP to the WAN and LAN ports of the NEXS2GO, then...

Re: EM9191: SIM not inserted

Okay, I'll just pay extra for Wireless Haven to update the firmware. Worth noting that Wireless Haven will only update your firmware to the latest that supports all carriers, which at this point is quite old. it's probably worth learning how to update the firmware yourself if you can find the time.

Re: Need help setting up MTU and MSS on intsy Connect

You might have to do this via SSH CLI commands (openWRT should have all the how-to on just about anything). I believe Nick removed a lot of stuff from the Rooter/Goldenorb (same base as WiFiX) based firmware that he copied and added to/from originally for intsy. I haven't tested it in the last year,...

Latest version firmware. 2022-03-23a.

I finally splashed out on a Cudy LT18 and the NEXP1GO is now relegated to being a spare router / modem. It had a handful of problems. None of them showstoppers but a source of frustration.

Re: Info on InvisaGig from TheWirelessHaven?

I agree on wishing something like this was out already. The draw to it is the fact that it does zero routing, and just the one job. Modem comms. It's interfaced in a non-complex way, AND it's not a teeny little RF nightmare of a design. It's likely that since it's being sold first from a store that ...

Re: Info on InvisaGig from TheWirelessHaven?

Nope, it's not running any routing jobs.

Think of it as just a modem, passing everything off to the host it's plugged into. If the 'host' is a single end user device it handles just it directly.

AlteredLogic It will definitely work in an outside enclosure, and probably cool better since it has the fan. It has a similar footprint to the smaller NEXGO router, but is thicker. I still think it'll fit just fine, and it actually includes four ~4" jumpers to connect to a 4x4 antenna. I do wi...

Ive placed the IG in a 4x4 MIMO antenna. Heat aspirates through the antenna case itself. Though the case is plastic, it still operates to cool the inside. It's case is too tall to fit inside the antenna enclosure. A new wider band coverage design is in the works for a drop in solution, but it may be a few months off at minimum. Yep, It can lock to one or the other. You'll be able to choose the one you like, and by default keep from the one you don't like. It is not like the 4G tower locking though, where you can list off a bunch of preferred bands on multiple towers. The 5G tower locks are one band, one tower. This will be...
