Re: RT-AC68U with EM7455 (AT&T 2CA 30MHz)

looking into the end of the connector

Not all pictures have that angle but for those that do, the antenna side is male and the chassis is female.

Amazon will ship it to me tomorrow.

Re: Trying to locate my tower

You've been busy :) Yes, there's a HUGE amount of high quality information here. I apologize for my 100 followups, I am really doing my best to take everything in and promise my followups will taper down over time as I understand things better. Trying to find your tower isnt real hard, but it takes...

Re: Super Slow

Hell send me the needs and Ill quote you out a whole set with full specs. Will do. At the moment, we decided that by next week we will be handing out ~$10 (used) USB2 routers with GO loaded with bandwidth monitoring enabled on them to help us collect datapoints. The assumption being made is that ev...

I am sorry you had to go through this. Please report the listing as this is not right. Bill thank you for confirming my suspicion. Re: Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)

I have not heard/read anything official from ATT but it seems like ATT is starting to value their LTE at $13/GB and axing any usage that falls below that metric. Since a large number of lines will be cancelled because of this decision, they are collecting logs of line behavior that can be shown to f...

Re: Best AT&T Provider

In general expect every US provider to become brokers of LTE data. Voice/text is going LTE too. As a result, focus on maximizing ROI on LTE investments/BW goes up. ATT's internal metric this quarter is reaching $13/GB (not roaming which is $120/GB, crazy I know). They are going to try tune all dials...

Re: Altice Mobile

Altice is not a viable alternative for home internet unless you know for a fact that you will remain well below the 50GB data limit. Their T&C makes it very clear they DO NOT want you to use them for your home internet.

Re: Need Advice on Modem Upgrade

I'm beginning to lean toward something that's a little more flexible than the M1 but not overly complicated. What are some good routers / devices that support openWRT AND usb>card modem? Or is this a bad idea? I request you to read: http://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1495#p10118

Re: Question about rural setup + upload speeds

Might be dependent on area but in the CA desert, using the T-mobile Magenta Max plan in a modem is resulting in 0.6Mbps symmetric, throttled and depriortized connection My AT&T iPAD plan has been rock solid and as advertised. I don't abuse it and download TBs of data. On the other hand, I have 2...

Re: T-Mobile Hotspot Masking

Hm, interesting. I don't plan on running it 24/7 I missed that detail. If you don't plan on running it 24/7, your current setup is ok because you've already spent the money and comfortable with it. Also it has to be able to easily hide tethering or else I'd be reduced to 3G speeds. You can't hide t...

Re: Looking for suggestions on modems-

SomeAnonGuy wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 5:54 pm Do modems show up as tethering to the network?
Yes.

Depending on the plan, you might not even get any service on the modem.
SomeAnonGuy wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 5:54 pm So I suppose I'm asking if I should look for another rootable android phone and use it as a modem (to avoid any sort of suspicion or detection)?

Re: All carriers LTE device

The VZ branded Moto E4 that I purchased brand new from WM for $40 and then unlocked for $3 can make and receive calls and text on TMo, ATT withut any hassle. Since it was VZ branded I had to call their CS to let me use a Visible SIM in it but after calling around was able to do so. 4G/LTE works full...

Has T-Mobile specifically done this before? Absolutely. I documented it in details about what they did to our small rural community in 2019 here. Re: AT&T shutoff of 3G February 2022 may affect you.

Hello, This decision by AT&T is just to reduce their support call volume. The redress depends on what legal constructs you have available in your state. My neighbors and I are in California, and have filed disputes citing SB 822: AT&T (or any other carrier) is not allowed to exclude a device...

Re: Need help change TTL, MTU and MSS in WiFiX

Things change, but in general it wasn't necessary to overcome hotspot data limits, as ATT seemed to use APNs for data use channeling. Not really sure to be honest, outside of that. Hey, Thank You for responding! So, AFAYR, modifying the Hop Limit field in IPv6 header wasn't necessary but also didn'...

Re: AT&T shutoff of 3G February 2022 may affect you.

On the DATA front my understanding is many cellular devices will keep working if they are LTE even if they are not on AT&T whitelist up until a IMEI sweep finds them In my case, such LTE devices had their speeds throttled to sub 100kbps and I had to call in to get the line "whitelisted&quo...

Re: AT&T public reachable IPV6

The outgoing connection is CGNAT with some tricks. If you are not internet savvy, the ATT plans aren't the best to try and self host. Yes, you can self host using these ATT plans but they take different traffic routes - which is where the tricks come into play so there's a lot of work that needs to ...
