Re: Do I need to go with a custom built router or should just get MOFI 4500?

Fantastic follow up details. Please don't be discouraged by lack of responses. I'll likely never get a mofi4500, but for people who do, your doing great work for them as well.

Good stuff!

Re: MC7455 and Visible by Verizon, Grammie help!

Thanks! I have not picked them back up as frustrated with myself for screwing them up, lol. Love to get your buddies advice on easy method to reset the Dell branded EM7455. Got a few more coming over by slow boat from China so any advice is appreciated. If you muster up some courage, you many want ...

Re: WE826-GO random reboots

I purchased it from The Wireless Haven about a month ago. I have successfully updated firmware to GoldenOrb_2020-05-16 and the reboots persist. There are a couple of possibilities for the rebooting. The most common is an under powered router due to a weak or failing power adapter, so try a new one ...

Re: Questions about building LTE router using WE1326

Here's what I did with my we1326. Not a lot of room in there, I think they would have fit on the sides too. It has internal lte antennas that you just ignore. Get the pig tails that will fit your antenna choice. If you go em modem you'll need a pcie to m2 adaptor. It was all very straightforward incl...

Re: Questions about building LTE router using WE1326

I had a mofi setup as well but found building my own gave me more flexibility. Specifically I wanted ca AND band 66 for example. Mofi does not have such a configuration. Sim4 doesn't have band 66 sim7 doesn't have ca. Just something to think about when you look at things. If you need/want band 71 th...

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)

I thought I would just post my experience here as I've been working on my setup for about 9 months now and have a stable connection. I'm using a MediaTek MT7620A with GoldenOrb_2020-05-16 firmware on ATT. My plan is AT&T unlimited. I ordered the enclosure from amazon that included the Quectel EM...

100% yes. It happens, and even can be there one day and gone the next.

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)

Sure no problem at all... I have it cron'd to run every minute and I usually just ssh to router and tail the log.out to see how long it's been between disconnects. As I mentioned, I rarely even notice if it's triggered. This my cron entry. */1 * * * * /bin/ash /root/test.sh >> /root/log.out 2>&1...

Re: Quectel EM12G cooling

Honestly. I ran an EM20G in the Hot Texas Summer heat, outdoors all summer. No heat sink. Was fine.

I would go with a heat sink on the chip cover, on top, and call it good. If you plan on setting it in a hot space, I would remove the case and mount the unit in a plastic case, or on a mounting board.

Thanks! No clue honestly. I may have some laying around though. email thewirelesshaven and I'll get one...

Re: Qfirehose on Rooter

Hello, Does anybody have some experience with QFirehose running on Rooter and used for uploading firmware into Quectel modems without removing ones from the router (i.e. firmware upgrade does not require moving the modem into separate a USB2/USB3 adapter)? I see the make and gcc are available in Go...
