I am going to butcher all of the terminology here, and I am sure I will get corrected by those smarter than me, but here is my layman's understanding..... Re: Modem Disconnecting

Hi Jim, you're totally right. One of the pigtails wasn't attached well to the MC7455, which explains the periodic signal drops.

Argh, spend 2 hours last night trying to diagnose/fix when it was something this simple!

Thanks again!

Re: CA on omnidirectional antennas?

CA worked with two omni antennas without issue. Signal strength is a bit weak (64%), but am able to lock onto B41 and get CA. Speeds now ~45 down, 4 up. Download is obviously way better, but up is much lower than B26. I assume this is due to weaker signal strength. I'm happy with this as I don't rea...

Re: Quectel EP06-A AT commands for carrier aggregation bandlock?

For Linux users, I wrote a little shell script to display LTE band values. #!/bin/sh # printf "%s%20s\n" "Band L-bandmask-1" "L-bandmask-2" LBAND=1 BBAND=1 while [ $LBAND -le 48 ] do printf "%-6s%016X\n" "B$LBAND" "$BBAND" LBAND=$(( $LBAND ...

Re: WiFi Dropping on WE826-T2 w/ Sierra Wireless MC7455

Using a higher current supply definitely helps. Have you tried the 2.5 Amp power adapter with a WE826? The data sheets for the MT7620 wifi chip show it draws 840mA normally and can draw peaks up to 1400mA. The 7455 can draw 1100mA continuous when transmitting and can draw more momentarily. There are...

Re: Help an idiot with a not working MoFi 4500

And finally, regarding the 7455 modem in MOFI. BTW, if one wants to see how MOFI interacts with the modem he can simply login to MOFI using SSH, open minicom session and use the MOFI GUI - all AT commands sent to the modem will be printed/echoed on the screen. But having an opened minicom session wi...

Re: EM7565 Verizon support

Done. Thanks Jim! Btw, I'll even be trying MIMO antennas through two boosters to the modem. I'm excited to see how that goes.

Re: Trying to decide on antennas

The flat panels arrived today. Amazing service from The Wireless Haven!! I had to take them for a test drive. Top 4 speeds are standing on my porch, holding the antennas in my hand and guessing at where the tower is. Pretty stable 20 download! Bottom 4 speeds are to a tower in the opposite direction...

ROOter/OpenWRT Samba Cross-Platform Setup with a WINS Server

I posted this on the ROOter forum too, but given the single thread nature there, tutorials tend to get lost in the clutter. So, starting with this post -- I'm going to post guides here too for some additional staying power. :-) If your network consists of a mix of different operating systems, and i...

WAN Bonding with ROOter and OpenMPTCProuter

Here's another post I did earlier this year on the ROOter forum, which is now a bit difficult to find. I did this post in late January, and I've since moved from the Raspberry Pi 4B to a Qotom x86 (i3) industrial PC with 4x gigabit Ethernet ports, 2x USB3 and 2x USB2 ports. OpenMPTCProuter needs an...

Re: AirMaster 4000D No Connection in confirmed B41 area

These things can be a little funky to get the settings just right, but once working they are really awesome. I was the poster in the other thread that had put all the settings from the debug tab into the applicable settings in the Airmaster, but I've recently found I was able to get the same result ...

Re: Raspberry Pi3+ | EM7565 Error

Update: I decided to order a new Pi, didn't have time to test the USB3 with modem from a windows machine. (says the Mac owner) I received the new Pi and configured and installed and still experienced the modem disconnects. In addition I ordered ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JYVPLLJ/ref=ppx_...

Beginners Guide to Fixed-location Cellular internet

I am, by no means, an expert. There are many available to you on this forum. This post covers what I have learned the hard way, in an effort to save you significant time and money. It is a combination of best practices that I have gleaned from others on this site, boiled down and simplified for anyo...
