Re: Activating a Calyx Router in a non-Sprint region

I am happy to say Calyx has worked reasonably well except for streaming video. Have been running Calyx 4g LTE for about 1 month. 4.8 miles away to somewhat tree obstructed tower, getting 20-40mb/s down 3-5 mb/s up with external antennas. Speeds can be quite variable. It will get over 60mb/s down in ...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Depends.... If you mean from one Sprint branded device to another Sprint branded device in order to swap to the new one, like one Sprint hotspot to another Sprint hotspot, then no. The SIM cards are provisioned to the device its activated in. In that case you simply call Sprint and tell them that yo...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

That is the exact route I went, started with the r850, then r910 and never satisfied with the device serving my home internet. I went with a wg3526, but I recommend the 826 if you dont need PoE to power it. Mine is on the room in an enclosure. I do, though, recommend using a Quectel modem (or a tel...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

I was incorrect, B41 is available on the EP-06 But you may want to check if your using B41, Modem->Network Status I believe Or At command AT+CSQ I believe The EP06-A does not have Band 41. Only the EP06-E and then it lacks a lot of the other bands. This is the reason we stock the EM06-A which does ...

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Also the r850 can pick up B41, the Quectel EP06 does not I think I read. Sprint Band 41 is the speedy DL channel, but very capped upload, whereas the FDD, lower, channels (25,26) CAN have better upload speeds but dont match B41 DL speeds.

Re: Are Sprint sim cards device locked?

Any idea of MBIM vs QMI would make any differences on sprint? It is currently using MBIM. Also wondering if the TTL settings makes a difference, currently set at 65. After a bit of research here are the three modes available on Quectel modems (EP06 and newer). AT+QCFG="usbnet",0 - QMI/PPP...

Quectel - Programming Carrier Bands and Groups of Bands

I prepared an Excel spreadsheet to assist in programming bands and/or a group of bands, on the Quectel modems. As with all material on this forum, use at your own risk. I have plans on including other Quectel modems when time permits, as well as a quick tutorial for commonly used AT Commands for the...

Re: Coolpad Surf - CP331A

This thread seems pretty dead but I just wanted to say that I found a serial terminal under the metal shield nearest to the battery connector. Red is TX and black is RX and this is the boot log: https://pastebin.com/Rh2FAeJ9 It disables all serial input but if you hold down the wps button until the ...

Re: What Modem should I use to replace coolpad hotspot from Mobile Citizen - sprint

TL:DR version: Yes, suggestions at the bottom. Long general slightly noobie version: So, lets Clarify... The Sprint based devices do not allow SIM swapping. But! That is a completely literal statement. SPRINT based, official Sprint device, firmware will not allow you to use a SIM from another Sprint...

Re: EM06-A : Need Help, modem isn't working after a power outage

I had a power outage this weekend, when the power came back, my EM06-a would not connect to verizon. A power outage may have corrupted the modem's NVM (Non-Volatile-Memory). I would reset it and try both QMI and MBIM modes. QMI mode Copy and paste each command one at a time, and make sure you get a...

Re: Coolpad Surf - CP331A

I have one of these on the way to see if it works. It should plug on to the "testing port" and allow for external antenna. https://www.ebay.com/itm/RG174-SMA-FEMALE-ANGLE-to-MS-156-MALE-ANGLE-Coax-RF-Cable-USA-Ship-Lot/143566731524?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=442523334578&_tr...

Re: Calyx, PCsforPeople, Mobile Citizen users - input?

I am currently using these antennas: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/antennas/wifi-antennas/omni-directional-w/806-2170mhz-4g-lte-antennas-and-cisco-extension/ Band 41 has a 'decent' range. Good antennas should pick it up beyond 3 miles pretty easy, but the hill could prevent it. That being said,...

Re: Completely New Setup Won't Connect to Sprint

They are called pdp contexts. Basically you are giving the modem the list of APNs it is allowed to use, as well as the allowed protocols to use with them.

Re: Calyx Tmobile/Sprint Users Service Issues??

Tmobile has been aggresively working on towers, messing with a lot. It will take repetitive calls to cust service asking wth is going on with signal and towers to get some answers. It's about all I've been able to get.

Re: Mobile Citizen / Calyx Internet Service Change 5G Upgrade Required

Most modems I've used on old Sprint plans that are now T-mobile, lately, including the Calyx SIMs, needed the modem imei to match the hotspot the SIM came in. Re: SOLVED: I'm stuck. Mobile Citizen T-Mobile SIM video throttling on RM502Q-AE, but not on hotspot

Got my Tmobile sim yesterday. Stuck it in my LT18 and had video throttling. Disabled TTL settings and fast.com shows 90Mbps. Re-enabled IPV6 and still good. Also changed APN back to fast.t-mobile.com as changing to b2b.tmobile.com didn't help So my settings are: identity crisis fast.t-mobile.com IPV...

Re: Disable IPv6 - goldenorb/openwrt

Set your APN to ipv4 only.. it's a setting under modem->connection profile. If needed, disable the modems ability to auto load apn's via at command.

For local, that's under network->interfaces->lan
And network-> dhcp i think.

Any particular reason to disable ipv6?
