EM20-G Downgrading the firmware

OpenWRT based firmware does not support the EM20-G other than MBIM with no AT COM port. Therefore, a patch must be used to communicate with the modem. The drivers for the modems like Option, QMI, MBIM, etc are "kmod" packages which means they are included in the compiled kernel of OpenWrt....

What antennas are you using on the WG3526? The Nighthawk M1 has excellent internal 4x4 mimo antennas and uses a cat16 modem, compared to your cat 4 modem. What it CANT do is use a quality directional 4x4 mimo directional anteanna, that the WG3526 can do.

After setting those commands you HAVE to hard reboot the modem either with AT+CFUN=1,1 or a full power cycle. Otherwise it may act very odd.
